🛏️❤️ Love in Action! ❤️🛏️

This morning, volunteers from Blackshear First United Methodist Church had the privilege of serving alongside Sleep in Heavenly Peace, assembling and delivering beds to children in our community who need a safe, comfortable place to sleep.

We are so thankful for everyone who gave their time and energy to serve! There’s something special about working side by side, knowing that at the end of the day, a child will have a bed of their very own because people cared enough to help.

Sleep in Heavenly Peace believes “No kid sleeps on the floor in our town,” and BFUMC is grateful to play a small part in helping make that mission a reality.

Thank you to everyone who volunteered and helped coordinate today’s effort. This is what it looks like to be the hands and feet of Jesus in our community. ❤️

We know church hasn't always felt that way for everybody. Sometimes we've even gotten pretty good at making things harder than they need to be.

But we believe there's another way to be the church together.

A place with room for different voices, different ideas, questions, disagreements, and a whole lot of grace.

That's what we're talking about for the next four weeks in Better Together.

John Wesley believed that faith always moves beyond ourselves.

Following Jesus changes our hearts—but it also changes how we treat our neighbors, how we pursue justice, and how we care for the world around us.

The Spirit never transforms us simply for our own sake.

Paul says that all creation is groaning, waiting for the day when God makes all things new.

That's a reminder that God cares about more than our souls.

It's hard, though, when we look around the world and see scary sometimes horrible things happening around us. We often talk about hope...but what do we do when hope is hard to have? Well..we have to remember...

Hope isn't pretending nothing is wrong.

Hope is trusting that God isn't finished yet.
