Northstar Church Being a Christian is not just about "attending" church services. It's about living for Jesus Christ and growing in a love relationship with God through Him.

Northstar is a hope-filled church seeking to lead people to discover life's ultimate joy in a relationship with Jesus Christ and helping them to "be the church." Northstar wants to encourage and equip others to ENJOY their relationship with God through joyful, loving obedience to Him.

𝗦𝗨𝗡𝗗𝗔𝗬 𝗥𝗘𝗖𝗔𝗣: What a beautiful Sunday together! As we wrapped up the third sermon in our Holy Spirit series, we looked at spiritual gifts and the fruit of the Spirit in 1 Corinthians 12 and Galatians 5, remembering that the Holy Spirit equips and transforms us for the good of the Church and the glory of Jesus.

One of the sweetest parts of the morning was celebrating two baptisms together as a church family and rejoicing in the new life we have in Christ!

𝗦𝗨𝗡𝗗𝗔𝗬 𝗥𝗘𝗖𝗔𝗣: This week we continued in week two of our three-part Holy Spirit series as we looked at the functions the Spirit. We also had the privilege of hearing Braeden’s “Our Story, His Story” testimony and celebrating the work God is doing in his life!

After service, our youth hosted their car wash fundraiser for summer camp. Thank you to everyone who came out, donated, and supported our students. We’re excited to see how God moves through them this summer.

𝗦𝗨𝗡𝗗𝗔𝗬 𝗥𝗘𝗖𝗔𝗣: Concluding our time in James, we learn from the abrupt and urgent ending about the importance of not leaving people behind and the reward that awaits when we bring back spiritual strays. Christians can stray from the truth and from the faith. James calls us to proactively seek to bring these people back into an intimate, surrendered faith in Jesus and relationship to His church, and this process require a right heart of humility and gentleness, a readiness to forgive and restore, and with godly counsel and initiative.

Send Off Sunday - May 3

Each year, we take time as a church family to honor those who will be leaving the New River Valley in the coming year. On Send Off Sunday, we’ll celebrate and pray over members of our Northstar family who are moving sometime in 2026.

During the service, we’ll share photos and a short statement about those being sent out, and we’ll invite you to come forward so we can recognize and pray for you together as a church.
