From the Valley Interfaith Childcare Center:
Thank you all for concern regarding the recent incident at VICCC. As you may know, there was a fire on Easter morning at the center. We are thankful that our children and staff were not present and no one was injured. We are also thankful to the first responders who reacted immediately and lessened the damage to the building.

At this time, we do not know when we can return to the building. Our priority is our families and staff. We are actively supporting them during this time. The building will need to be cleaned and we are working with the appropriate agencies to expedite our reopening. This community has supported us from the very beginning. We know so many of you want to help and we are so thankful. We welcome your thoughts and prayers at this time.

VICCC began with a mission and a vision of safety, love, and learning for the young children of the New River Valley. That mission continues to guide us today. We have faced challenges, stayed open through Covid, and forged ahead through it all. We will continue to serve our community in excellence. We will not just survive this but we will thrive through your support.

On the 3rd ballot, the Convention of the Diocese of Southwestern Virginia elected The Rev. Karin MacPhail to be our 7th Bishop! We give thanks for the guiding presence of the Holy Spirit in the life of this diocese.
