Our grounds ministry volunteer found an intruder in one of our bird houses! After its snack, we were worried this fella might not be able to make it back out, but it was gone the next day. The UUC grounds are definitely a happening place! 🐍

A new month brings a new theme as we worship and grow through faith development together. This September, gather at UUC as we explore "Beginnings" of all kinds.

This Saturday, 6-9 PM! All are welcome to gather at UUC for Community Game and Craft Night. The featured craft this month is friendship bracelets, but if you missed our other summer crafts (crochet and collage) those materials will be available as well. And of course, LOTS of games! A light meal will be provided. Bring snacks to share and friends, too!

Bring water this Sunday for our annual Water Communion!

Please bring a small amount of water from a place that is special to you or from somewhere you may have traveled this summer. In our service on August 30, we will have a water in-gathering where we combine our waters into one communal bowl. This combined water is symbolic of our shared faiths and traditions coming from many different sources.

Or you can simply send us a photo of your water and we will include it in the service!

After the service, all ages are invited to enjoy watermelon together and families with children can participate in the RE Open House.

Many faith traditions and world mythologies view rainbows as powerful symbols of divine promises, celestial bridges, or cosmic weapons, carrying deep spiritual meaning. Plus… they’re pretty! 🤩 What a thrill to see one over our grounds.

In difficult times, these are comforting words.

Congregations and their members are navigating profound upheaval in these times, and I am continually inspired by the creativity and care with which Unitarian Universalists carry out life-saving ministries in diverse communities and contexts. The heart of Unitarian Universalism lives in congregations and communities – in the lay leaders, musicians, religious educators, ministers, and all who gather together week after week. It is an honor and privilege for the UUA to support that vital work.

Our living tradition will outlast these painful times, beloveds. Just as our religious forbears have done across the centuries, we will be shaped by what is happening in our wider world, but we will not be defeated. We will continue to invite all people of good will, who would live their lives by a set of shared values, to join us in dreaming the world anew. We will freely embrace our covenantal tradition and move together to center justice, reason, and love in our spiritual living.
