I was nine years old in 1963 when I walked the aisle at Midway Baptist Church to be born again. However, for the next eleven years I did not live as a Christian. Around January 3, 1975 I came back to the Lord. This past week, as I reflected on this, I asked the Lord what was going on in those eleven years? Why did it take so long to start living as a born again Christian? He took me to John 12:24, particularly, “. . . A grain of wheat falls into the ground . . .” He said, “In 1963, a seed was planted in you, but your soil was not fertile enough to allow this seed to grow.” Then, I asked why wasn’t the seed taken away? Especially since there was no evidence that I would live for the Lord? He said, “There were times when satan asked and even tried to sn**ch the seed away, but I wouldn’t let him.” (This indicates the warfare satan wages over our lives. Thank God that Jesus has won the victory)! He said, “I knew the plans I had for you. There was life in your seed that would come forth and produce. So, I fertilized your soil. I kept weeds from overtaking your soil. I worked your soil (Lk 13:6-9). I protected your seed, until the life in the seed began to grow and produce a harvest.” There are seeds that have been planted in you and your family that may seem dormant, but I believe the Holy Spirit is still working the soil, making it conducive to produce a crop. Thank God, He is the God of second chances. Remember, He knows the plans and thoughts that He has for you!

THE TWO TREES

In reflecting on the death and resurrection of Jesus, the Holy Spirit reminded me of an experience I had in 1975. I had been born again for several months. I was involved with a house church in Homestead, Florida. I had been baptized in the Holy Spirit and was captured by His presence. It was an exciting time. Then, out of nowhere, satan began to plant seeds of discontent in me. He asked, “How is this Christian life fulfilling you? Don’t you miss your old way of life? Partying and having fun?” People I knew outside of church were trying to get me to join them in “Partying”. Finally, I gave into satan’s influence and went with these “friends” to a concert. However, shortly after entering the concert hall, I knew that I didn’t belong there. I found a pay phone, called my house church and two brothers came and picked me up. On the way home one of the brothers asked me, “What did the Lord show you while at the concert?” I said, “It was like I was in one tree and my friends at the concert were in another tree and that I was trying to reach over and partake of that tree.” Today, fifty years later, the Holy Spirit spoke to me saying, “This is what I was instilling in you, “You are in Christ [that is, grafted in, joined to Him by faith in Him as Savior], you are a new creature [reborn and renewed by the Holy Spirit]; the old things [the previous moral and spiritual condition (the other tree)] have passed away. Behold, new things have come to you [because spiritual awakening brings a new life]” (‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭5‬:‭17‬ ‭AMP). From this I can attest, that we, as born again Christians, are abiding in Christ, as the Tree of life, and we can continually eat of His fruit. “It is through him that we live and function and have our identity . . .” (‭‭Acts‬ ‭17‬:‭28‬ ‭TPT‬‬). This is what He gave us by His death, resurrection and baptism in the Holy Spirit. Thank You, Jesus!

UNCLOGGED PASSAGEWAYS

Someone shared a dream with me about unclogging a passageway. In this dream I could see the Lord opening up old passageways into the ways of God that have been blocked by traditions, man’s agendas or by man determining what is and what’s not of God. Such actions will and have clogged up passageways that should flow in the Holy Spirit. I’ve shared before how I became a believer, but I did not live as a born again believer for about eleven years. However, when I came back to the Lord in 1975, one thing the Holy Spirit said to me was, “This same Jesus, Whom you have heard about your whole life is truly the Way, the Truth and Life, there’s no other way!” That night, in 1975, the Holy Spirit unclogged that old passageway and life in the Holy Spirit began to flow. What didn’t flow through me, when I was born again at nine years old, began to flow through me in 1975. I had a desire for more of God. While driving to my Air Force Base in Florida I asked God to only let me meet Christians, which He did. He led me to a church, not a clogged up church, but a church that was flowing in the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit flowed through the Bible, as the Word of God became alive to me. As I flowed in worship, His presence wrapped around me. My prayer life changed when I was filled with the Holy Spirit and I began to pray in tongues. All that was happening to me seemed new (and to me it was), but it wasn’t. It was the ways of God which have always been. I believe God is still unclogging today, opening up His passageways to fullness of life in Him (Eph 3:19).

Praying and ministering to our grandson, Graham as he prepares to join WYAM-Youth With A Mission in Switzerland. Intercession, praying in the Spirit, and the Prophetic are vital parts of body ministry. The one being prayed for receives and those ministering are being equipped for the work of the ministry.

A WORD FROM PASTOR RICK

“For by You I can run (through) a troop, By my God I can leap over a wall” (Psalm 18: 29). As I meditated on this verse the Holy Spirit said, “Do you feel like you are facing a wall?” Then He reminded me of Matthew 11: 12, “And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffers violence (forcefully advancing), and the violent take it by force.” Putting these two verses together He said, “I am rapidly advancing things in your life and there is no time for you to wait for the wall to fall so you must leap over it as I accelerate what I am doing.” A warrior (believer) rapidly advancing does not go around but through; he doesn't wait for something to move or fall but goes over it. He told me this: “If you think you can’t keep up with what I am doing; step into it anyway and let the speed (force) of My advance pull you along (draft). Soon you’ll find yourself advancing with Me at My speed.”
“As for God, His way is perfect; The word of the LORD is proven” (Psalm 18: 30).

A WORD FROM PASTOR RICK

BLESSED NATION

(Ps 33:12; 144:12-15; Eph 3:20; Heb 8:13; Mat 16:18)
Since the murder of Charlie Kirk, there has been a turning in America; a repentance that has turned this nation back to God. But, God, Who does abundantly more than we can imagine, has also revealed the heart of our nation through our nation’s leadership. And to me, this is the most inspiring part of all. Possibly, for the first time since our nation’s founding fathers, our nation’s leadership is both vocal and active in their Christian faith. Evil is losing its grip. Evil strongholds are collapsing. Truly, in this hour, God is making “what was” in control obsolete; it is growing old and is ready to vanish away. America is once again experiencing how she was at her founding, “One nation under God.” A blessed nation! America has reached a “Turning Point.” Now, Church, let’s not allow America to turn back to her former way, but let us continue to fight and push against the gates of hell and not allow hell to have access to America again. May the blessings of God fall on America. May America be a nation who loves and serves God and may America be BLESSED!

Charlie Kirk was a modern day Apostle. Just as the Apostle Paul was sent to the Gentiles and the Apostle Peter was sent to Jews, the Apostle Charlie was sent to our college campuses—to our youth. Charlie did not just engage in political debate, but he also shared the Gospel of Jesus Christ. In fact, I’ve heard that the last words out of Charlie’s mouth, just before the assassin's bullet took his life, were about Jesus Christ.
Just as fear and hatred killed the Apostles, hatred and fear killed Charlie. God always turns satan’s evil intent into good. I believe Charlie’s life and now his martyrdom will throw gas on the evangelistic fires that are already burning on our college campuses and in America. America is being saved!
