Dear Brothers and Sisters,

For your information the Stake Center parking lot will be undergoing maintenance on May 26th and 27th and will make it inaccessible for parking during those two days. Please make adjustments if you have activities/meetings that conflict with this. If you need help coordinating at a different meeting house, I'd be happy to help. Thanks for all you do.

Today, as we celebrate Mother’s Day, I am reminded of the sacred role mothers play in our lives.

Ezra Taft Benson taught, “Mothers are the heart of the home.” Their love, sacrifice, and faith shape who we become and help guide us back to our Heavenly Father.

The Book of Mormon gives us powerful examples of righteous mothers. The 2,000 stripling warriors said they did not doubt because “their mothers knew it” (Alma 56:47–48). These faithful women taught their sons to trust in God, and that testimony gave them courage to face impossible challenges.

Thomas S. Monson said, “Never let a problem to be solved become more important than a person to be loved.” Mothers live this principle every day as they serve, comfort, teach, and love their families.

Russell M. Nelson has taught that the influence of righteous women is essential in the Lord’s work. A mother’s quiet faith and daily acts of devotion can bless generations.

Today we honor the women who have nurtured us, prayed for us, and believed in us even when we struggled to believe in ourselves. Thank you to all mothers, grandmothers, stepmothers, and mother figures who reflect the Savior’s love.

Happy Mother’s Day to the incredible women who help us become who God knows we can be. 💐❤️

🩸 Be Someone’s Hero — Donate Blood 🩸

It only takes about an hour to donate blood… but for someone in the hospital, it could mean more birthdays, more family dinners, more chances to keep fighting.

Accidents, surgeries, cancer treatments, and emergencies happen every single day — and hospitals can’t make blood. They rely on ordinary people willing to step up and help.

Plus, let’s be honest… it’s probably the only time in life where you can lose a pint and still get free snacks afterward. 🍪😄

So if you’re healthy and able, consider donating. One donation can help save multiple lives. That’s a pretty amazing trade for a little poke in the arm.

Give blood. Save lives. Be the reason someone gets another tomorrow. ❤️

I’ve been thinking lately about how we teach our kids about the armor of God… and if I’m being honest, sometimes it’s a tough connection for them to make.

Helmets, shields, swords—those made perfect sense in Bible times. But for kids today, it can feel a little like we’re asking them to relate to something out of a history book.

And while they might enjoy the imagery, I wonder if sometimes they miss the deeper meaning.

Because it’s not really about the armor.

It’s about what it represents.

Maybe instead of focusing only on “old school” armor, we can help them see it in a way that connects to their world. Almost like spiritual “gear” or protection—something more like what they see in futuristic movies or games. Something that powers them up from the inside.

Faith becomes their strength when things feel uncertain.
Truth becomes their guide when everything around them is confusing.
Peace becomes their calm when life feels overwhelming.
And choosing the right becomes their defense against the pressures they face every day.

The adversary doesn’t show up in obvious ways—he shows up in distractions, comparison, peer pressure, and doubt. So our kids don’t need metal armor… they need something stronger.

They need spiritual strength they can actually use.

Maybe the goal isn’t just to teach them what the armor of God looks like…
but to help them understand how it actually works in their everyday lives.

And maybe, just maybe, if we meet them where they are—even if that means thinking a little more “futuristic”—it’ll stick a whole lot better.
