Ours is not the struggle of one day, one week, or one year. Ours is not the struggle of one judicial appointment or presidential term. Ours is the struggle of a lifetime, or maybe even many lifetimes, and each one of us in every generation must do our part.

Nothing can stop the power of a committed and determined people to make a difference in our society.

Take a long, hard look down the road you will have to travel once you have made a commitment to work for change. Know that this transformation will not happen right away. Change often takes time. It rarely happens all at once. In the movement, we didn't know how history would play itself out.
When we were getting arrested and waiting in jail or standing in unmovable lines on the courthouse steps, we didn't know what would happen, but we knew it had to happen.
~John Lewis

Here I am, in Quaker surroundings, whose restful simplicity is most congenial to me. I feel here the earnest desire for genuine growth and culture which founds a slow but sure success. I am confirmed in my division of human energies. Ambitious people climb, but faithful people build.

Do you wonder why your meeting has fewer children and young adults? Wondering why it’s a challenge to fill committees? Attend “The Water We Swim In," a presentation by Barry Crossno. Barry shares about the social and economic changes that affect our meetings. He will also explore ways to renew our spiritual communities. Barry is the General Secretary of FGC.

Registration opens in early April. Now is a good time to start thinking about money. Information for work grants and scholarships is posted online. Take a look!

Do you know a Quaker treasurer, web worker, or member of Finance Committee? They may be interested in a new resource on our website! In this video, staff from Friends Fiduciary share about their online giving tool. This tool helps meetings to safely accept online donations by credit card, check, or through securities.
