Meet A Workshop Leader:
Rev. Jemal Cobb was born the second oldest son to Overseer Joseph and Pastor
Susie Cobb. He is a native of Holly Hill, SC which to where he attended public
schools. Jemal was saved and filled with the Holy Spirit in the summer of 1986.
In February 1989, Jemal enlisted in the United States Air Force where he was called to
preach the Gospel in 1990. He did not answer this call until the summer of 1996. He
served faithfully at Kadena AB until 2000 when he was reassigned to SHAPE
Headquarters in Mons, Belgium. It was there that the Lord instructed Rev. Cobb to start
the Living Word Church in the chapel at SHAPE. Most recently Pastor Cobb served as
pastor of Life Impact Church in Columbia SC from 2011 to 2018.
After serving in the military for over 20 years he retired in Columbia, SC. Over his 20-
year military career, Pastor Cobb gained substantial experience in multi-faceted areas
that includes worship, preaching, teaching, evangelism, discipleship, stewardship,
leadership, administration, and cultural diversity. Pastor Cobb's passion is to help the
children of God become biblically literate, doctrinally sound and spiritually mature.
Rev. Cobb is a member of Kappa Alpha Psi, Inc and he sits on the Advisory Council to
the Columbia Board for Habitat for Humanity.
Some of Rev. Cobb’s ministerial accomplishments to date are as follows:
- Graduated Valedictorian from Sacramento Theological Seminary and Bible College ‘99
- Evangelized/Preached the Gospel in seven different countries to include Belgium,
Germany, Netherlands, Japan, Italy, Qatar, and United States
- Member of the Advisory Committee for the Church Builders Summit
- President of Education Committee
Pastor Cobb is married to the love of his life, Dr. Josetta Cobb and has five daughters,
Anika, Keietta, Dija, Kai and Christian and 3 grandchildren.
