The devil has always been the accuser—his name, Satan, literally means “accuser” or “adversary.”

In John 8, when the religious leaders drag a woman caught in adultery before Jesus, He does something so scandalous.

He refuses to join their condemnation. Instead, He asks, “Woman, where are your accusers?”

You could say He’s asking, “Where are your devils now?”

Because in the presence of Jesus, every accusing voice—human or demonic—always loses. When it’s just you and Jesus, He silences every accusation.
