Jibek lives in a remote, mountainous area of Kyrgyzstan where she tends sheep by herself to be able to read her Bible. She is experiencing persecution from her family for the decision to leave Islam and follow Jesus. Her daughters-in-law mock and mistreat her as they take all of her Christian books—including her Bible—and monitor her phone to delete any trace of Christian apps. Jibek is over the age of 60 and looks for reasons to visit larger cities so she can meet with other believers in church. When alone, she accesses Bible apps and watches sermons online, then deletes them so her family cannot find evidence to harass her. Her solitude among the sheep becomes a sanctuary with the Good Shepherd.

Lord Jesus, Shepherd of our souls, we thank You that You are meeting Jibek in the mountains of Kyrgyzstan, speaking to her through Your Word and giving her strength. You are providing companionship and encouragement for her as she meets with You. We ask for the persecution from her family to lessen and that they would be open to hearing more about You. Give Jibek wisdom in the ways she can find time with You, Lord, and protect her life as she seeks You.

“I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me…and I lay down my life for the sheep.”—John 10:14-15

Before the last shouts of praise had faded, a different kind of cry was heard in Jerusalem. “Hosanna in the Highest!” was all too quickly replaced with “Crucify Him!” Rather than the palm leaves that had cushioned the path of a King, the dusty street was now filled with an angry mob. The rumors, generated by fear, had hit their mark. The betrayer had done his work, and God in flesh had been sold out for a few silver coins.
And we think “What a fickle bunch! How could they turn on Him so quickly?” But don’t we do the same? We’re so excited and grateful to have our sins forgiven and to follow Jesus. But if we’re not very careful, we’ll be caught back up in the old crowd, going down the same old roads, living the same futile life, as though we’d never met the Savior.
How do we avoid that path? By talking to God through prayer and listening to Him through reading His word, the Bible. By being involved with His church, the people of God, in worship and fellowship with other Christians. And by understanding the difference between seeking advice from well-meaning family or friends who my be lost, and seeking Godly counsel from those who also know God and seek His direction.

A very large crowd spread their cloaks on the road, while others cut branches from the trees and spread them on the road. The crowds that went ahead of him and those that followed shouted, “Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest heaven!” Matthew 21:8-9
Crucify him!” they shouted. Mark 15:13

So thankful we're thawing out and slowly returning to "normal"! However, just to be cautious about some patches of ice still on the roads, there will be NO WEDNESDAY NIGHT SERVICES tonight. Stay warm and safe!

“It is criminal what is happening in Iran!

“Some insiders are saying that 43,000 have been brutally murdered, and many of them are being tortured, r***d, and left to die on city streets.

“We took this picture in Tehran the last time we were there. Just some innocent boys having fun. But those days are over.

“Please pray for the Iranian people, the many followers of Christ, and that the bloodshed would end.

“May God have mercy on them and may many see Islam's true colors and turn to Christ for salvation.

“If the Islamic Republic of Iran is overthrown, this will be more significant than the fall of the Berlin Wall.”

– Tom Doyle, Founder and CEO of Uncharted Ministries

Heavenly Father, We join our Iranian brothers and sisters in crying out to You to rescue them from the brutality they are experiencing from their government. You rule the nations. You raise them up and You take them down. You appoint kings and remove kings. You are El Shaddai, God Almighty. Supreme in authority over all creation. Every knee bows before You in heaven, on earth and under the earth. We know Your purposes are going forward in Iran with perfect faithfulness. We pray that now is the time the people of Iran are set free from being crushed under the foot of this Islamic government that has no care or mercy for them. May You be glorified among the nations by what You accomplish there. In Your wondrous and mighty Name we pray. Amen.

“The Lord has established His throne in the heavens, and His sovereignty rules over all.” – Psalm 103:19
