Here is information regarding overseas food shortages. Rice is a huge commodity to east Asia as wheat and other grains would be to us in the west.
My concern is that this is only the beginning as I predict by 2030 there will be food shortages everywhere and America will not be exempt from this. Today we are almost half way through year 2023. That means you have 6.5 years left to find your way of self sufficiency.
My wife and I are planning to incorporate Hydroponics and we plan to be ready by middle of 2024 or 2025 latest. We have begun to study Hydroponics and also other avenues as well.
What I am saying is famine is soon coming and I think its wise to begin planning now for this even now.

There are no food crises. unless you are talking about fertilizer producers who need precursors.
There are no food crises, unless you are talking about farmers who need fertilizers.
There are no food crises, unless you live in a country which depends largely on food imports to sustain the local population.
There will be no food crises, until people need to eat and can’t find affordable options for food.
Then there will be a food crisis, and it will be too late.
Rice production for 2023 is set to log its largest shortfall in two decades, according to Fitch Solutions.
“At the global level, the most evident impact of the global rice deficit has been, and still is, decade-high rice prices,” Fitch Solutions’ commodities analyst Charles Hart told CNBC.
There’s a strained supply of rice as a result of the ongoing war in Ukraine, as well as weather woes in rice-producing economies like China and Pakistan.
