Imagine having to flee your home for an unfamiliar country where the language is foreign, the systems are confusing, and every decision is urgent.

This is the challenge that Halyna, a 38-year-old mother from Odesa, Ukraine, faced in 2022 when the realities—and the bombs—of war edged closer.

After fleeing to Romania, Halyna became one of the thousands of Ukrainian refugees who have received legal assistance, housing, employment, and psychosocial support through the caring and supportive staff of Global Ministries and UMCOR partners in the region.

Today, Halyna and her family can look forward to the future, no longer overwhelmed by day-to-day survival.

In light of the answer Sarah Seely provided on Jesus's most important commandment: "The most important one,” answered Jesus, “is this: ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these. Mark 12:29-31", what are the ways in which we can demonstrate that love to the world?
