This time last week ICC and South Highland Presby. Church staffs finished gathering for a lunch to hear of encouraging work happening on Highland Ave. and in Birmingham through each others’ ministries and to get to know each other better.

In a city once called “the city of churches” we want to cheer on other gospel-preaching churches. We praise God that SHPC is not merely a landlord, but a gospel partner.

Pray that the corner on of Richard Arrington and Highland Ave. would continue to be a hub of God-glorifying gospel ministry that impacts the world. 🙏🏽

Move in so everyone has a seat!

We praise God for all the new faces. In a church that is transient we want to leverage the time we have with those here for a temporary time to send them wherever they’re going next with the gospel.

“We tend to say, ‘The church grew.’ Acts tends to say, ‘The word spread.’” — Matt Smethurst

As The Well Church likes to say, “We want to be more than your college ministry. We want to be your church.”

We’re a 3 minute drive and 15 minute walk from UAB.
And a 9 minute drive from Samford.

Send this to a college student who’s looking for a church in BHAM or to a parent who’s looking for churches for their kids!

We sing all kinds of songs: gospel songs, hymns new and old, contemporary choruses, Psalms, and forgotten songs from different eras. We don’t worship worship. We worship God. When we sing songs that aren’t quite your personal taste it’s the perfect opportunity to love those around you and sing the truths of the song while observing how it impacts others who love the song. Congregational singing is a means of exercising our love for one another, and love is the circulatory system of the church. Without it a church dies.

Members, join us for our members meeting after the service on Sunday in Davis Family Hall in South Highland to continue this practical love toward each other around a meal. $5 Cash or Venmo.

We gather on Sundays at South Highland Presbyterian Church weekly at 4 pm.

Has unkindness toward the immigrant become the acceptable form of racism and prejudice in our day?

Isaac speaks to this question in his sermon on the Image of God preached on 01.25.26.

We gather weekly on Sundays at 4 pm at South Highland Presbyterian and scatter to love our neighbors in Birmingham and wherever God has us.

So much happens at the doors.

Make sure to stop and talk to various staff members at the doors each Sunday to catch up, encourage, or receive prayer, give prayer, or set up a meeting!

Church is embodied. Nothing can replace it. Not livestream. Not podcasts. Not YouTube.

We want to be a church that exports ministry and helps other churches rather than competing like the world.

Let’s pray for the Ratcliffs as they begin their first Sunday at Shades Crest Baptist Church. Let’s also pray for the McClintons who will be joining them there as members. It was a privilege to pray for them last Sunday on their last Sunday at ICC.

Join us Sunday at 4pm at South Highland Presbyterian as Isaac preaches an overview sermon of the Song of Solomon entitled “Captivated”

We pick up with our Bird’s-eye series this Sunday where pastor Isaac preaches an overview of a whole book in a sermon. Be reading through 1 Kings and come ready to feast. The sermon schedule has also been updated!

More than a hospitable team;

We want to be a hospitable church.

Look out for new faces this upcoming Sunday and invite them to dinner or another meeting during the week. Summer is when a lot of new faces show up for new endeavors in Birmingham. Let’s welcome one another as Christ has welcomed us (Rom. 15:7).

Sundays at 4pm at South Highland Presbyterian Church.
