A Catholic, a Jew, and a Quaker are stranded on a desert island, and they find an old lamp buried in the sand. The Catholic rubs the lamp and the genie appears and asks him for his one wish.
“The center of my faith is in St Peter’s square in Rome - I’d like to be taken there.”
*P**F* he vanishes.
The Jew takes up the lamp and rubs it and the genie asks him for his single wish.
“My spiritual home is at the Western Wall in Jerusalem - I want to be there.”
*P**F* he also vanishes.
The Quaker hesitantly rubs the lamp and, when the genie asks him his wish he answers,
“I’m a Quaker and this decision calls for discernment. I need a Clearness Committee. Can you bring those other two guys back?”

As Thee Quaker wrote earlier this week, Quakers are not a monolith. And, at the same time, many Friends were ahead of their time on supporting LGBTQIA+ rights. LGBTQ Nation released an article that says: "63 years ago, the Quakers stood up for gay dignity & they’re still fighting for our LGBTQ+ rights."
