Singlesgiving Movie Night is happening Friday, November 13th at 6:00 PM at the Birmingham Premiere LUX theatre.

We will have a private viewing for God With Us.

This event is for singles 21 and older, and registration is $18 per person.

Registration closes November 6th.

What happens when the icing becomes more important than the cake?

God created you with purpose, but somewhere along the way, it’s possible to become so focused on the things we want out of life that we lose sight of why we’re here.

There’s nothing wrong with enjoying life! But those things were never meant to take the place of your purpose.

As Pastor A reminded us, your purpose is the cake. The pleasures of life are the icing.

So here’s a question worth sitting with:

Have you been building your life around God’s purpose or your own desires?

It’s time to get things back in order.

You had a purpose before you had a heartbeat.

Before you had a name, a title, an accomplishment, or anyone’s approval, God already knew you.

Jeremiah questioned his ability because of his age and inexperience, but God reminded him that his calling didn’t begin with his qualifications.

And neither does yours.

When the assignment feels bigger than you, remember who called you.

Don’t allow what you’re facing to make you forget what God created you for.

Jeremiah 1:5

Everybody wants the promise, but not everybody is willing to surrender to the process.

Obedience to God can be uncomfortable. It may require you to walk away from what’s familiar, release your own plans, and follow Him into places where nobody else can go with you.

And that’s the part we don’t always talk about. People can love you, encourage you, and pray for you, but they can’t surrender FOR you.

Some parts of obedience are between you and God alone.

Are you willing to follow Him even when it costs you your comfort?

You can be consistent in your church attendance and still resist becoming more like Christ.

Reading your Bible, praying, and showing up for worship are important, but what are those things producing in your life?

Are your decisions changing? Are you examining your attitudes? Are you allowing God’s Word to confront the things you’ve gotten comfortable with?

The Word wasn’t given to us just to identify what’s wrong with everybody else. It’s also a mirror that reveals what God wants to change in US.

The goal isn’t just to know more about God. It’s to become more like Him.

So here’s the question: What has God been showing you about yourself that you still need to address?
