LYDIA, THE GENEROUS HOSTESS. Acts 16:11-15,40. Lydia has done quite well for herself. She was successful in business and a God-fearing woman. She met Paul and accepted his teaching of Jesus Christ and was baptized. She insisted that Paul and his companions stay at her home. Lydia had a gift of hospitality. Lydia’s home was not only a safe haven for Christians but she made them feel at home. In essence, her home became the church.
