Karen Diane Sims
Karen Diane Sims
Jan 2, 1948 - Jan 17, 2023

Karen Diane Sims, 75, of West Palm Beach, FL, passed away on January 17, 2023. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister.

Diane was kind, generous, funny. She loved everyone and enjoyed making friends everywhere she went. She loved the Lord and was looking forward to being with Jesus in heaven one day. Even though she suffered a lot illness throughout her entire life, she treated everyone who came into her home like family. She was an avid Alabama football fan. She enjoyed entertaining and never met a stranger. We can find comfort in knowing that she is no longer suffering, that she is healed and in the presence of her savior.

She was preceded in death by her husband Lloyd, her grandson, Blake, her parents and two siblings, Coy and Connie.

She is survived by her daughter Angel Maharrey (Rodney) of West Palm Beach, FL, her son Skip Tallmage (Suprena) of Prattville, AL and two step-children, Rusty and Teresa Sims, both of Birmingham, AL.
Grandchildren: Chase Maharrey (Jamie), Dylan Maharrey (Jessica), Gracie Maharrey, Alexa Maharrey, Taylor Wainwright (Daniel), Ryan Tallmage, Bradley Tallmage, Will Butts, Maggie Jones (Josh). Great grandchildren: Ellie, Morgan, Tatum, Will, Annie and Lizzie. Brother Gerald Brown and sister Shirley Ledlow, both of Birmingham, AL, as well as many nieces and nephews that she adored.

Arrangements are pending but there will be a celebration of her life at a later time, likely in the summer and we will take her home to her sweet home Alabama.

Cards can be sent to

It is with great sadness and shock that I share this. My mom, Karen Diane Brown Sims passed away at 1:44 this morning. While we’re very sad for her loss we know that she is in Heaven with her husband, parents, and grandson.

Last info from Diane’s daughter.

Karen Diane Brown Sims arrangements. We will be cremating my mom, based on her wishes and we will honor those wishes. We will be bringing her home to Birmingham to have a service and be with my Paps, but we will have to do it at a time that works for my family. We are tentatively looking at the end of May to bring her home. We will keep everyone updated. Thank you all for the support and love. Angel Tallmadge Maharrey

We had a wonderful First Assembly of God reunion this weekend. It was great to see friends that we haven’t seen for many years. Hearing memories from our youth days made us laugh, turn red-faced, and cry with happiness. We were able to visit our old church which now houses the Corpus Christi Faith Church. Pastor Mike and his members welcomed us with open arms, blessed us with singing, and a prayer blessing. It was really good getting to see our old church and remembering all the fun times we had there.

Anyone who attended the reunion, please share the pictures that you made.
