The Christian Life Center (CLC) at Birmingham First is open to the public for indoor walking throughout the month of July.

CLC Summer Walking Hours
Monday–Friday: 9:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m.
Thursday Evenings: 6:00–8:00 p.m.

Whether you're looking to get your steps in, exercise in a climate-controlled space, or avoid unhealthy air quality, you're welcome to walk with us.

Happy 85th Birthday, Pastor Rod (aka Father Q)!

This month we celebrate the 85th birthday of Rev. Rod Quainton, who faithfully served as Senior Associate Pastor of Birmingham First from 2003 to 2013. To mark this special milestone, Pastor Emeritus Rev. Dr. Jack Harnish and Judy Harnish, along with church members Mike and Anita Barratt, traveled to Chicago to celebrate with Pastor Rod and Nanci.

Pastor Rod's years of faithful ministry continue to be a blessing to our church family. Please join us in wishing him a very happy birthday and God's abundant blessings in the year ahead!

We are excited to share that our Children's Ministry classrooms are receiving a wonderful renovation this summer, thanks to the faithful generosity of one of our church famililes, along with additional improvements provided by our Trustees.

Five Sunday School classrooms (Rooms 228, 230, 251, 253, and 255) are being transformed by removing the overhead cabinets to create brighter, more open learning spaces. New lower cabinets and countertops will be installed, fresh paint will brighten each room, and the existing carpet will be replaced with beautiful hardwood flooring. Rooms 221/223 will also receive new hardwood floors thanks to the Trustees. These improvements will provide cleaner, healthier classrooms while reducing the ongoing maintenance and carpet cleaning needs.

In addition, our classrooms will be furnished with new age-appropriate furniture and interactive whiteboards to enhance the Christian learning experience for children of all ages. This generous gift is also making it possible to upgrade the Wi-Fi throughout the entire church, allowing us to better support ministry by streaming worship services into the Nursery, expanding learning opportunities, and incorporating new technology into our Sunday School lessons.

We are incredibly grateful to the family whose generosity made these renovations possible, to our Trustees for their continued investment in our facilities, and to the volunteers who have dedicated countless hours to removing furniture, clearing classrooms, painting, and preparing these spaces for the next generation.

We look forward to welcoming our children back into these renewed classrooms when Sunday School resumes on September 13. Thank you to everyone who has helped make this exciting project a reality!

Birmingham First & Berkley First United Methodist Church is honored to help make a new playground a reality for the children and families of Pontiac. We invite you to join us as we celebrate this exciting milestone with a groundbreaking ceremony on Thursday, July 9 at 9:30 a.m. at the Webster Community Center, 640 W. Huron Street, Pontiac.
