As we celebrate over a century of congregational ministry in the metropolitan Birmingham area, we view this as a time of renewal, both individually and corporately. This is reflected in our most recent change of our name to New Start Covenant Of Grace. Most importantly, we envision this as a uni

que opportunity to refocus on our God ordained mission and purpose to be a Connected, Committed and Concerned Church. We are CONNECTED… a people who believe that a vital relationship with God through an acceptance of Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord of our lives is essential. We believe what Jesus said in John 15:5, “If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.” This can be nurtured and developed in private devotional times with God – simply being in His Presence. The importance of this horizontal relationship cannot be underestimated. It is with this in mind that we cherish and uphold a rich and loving fellowship of believers. We believe that the larger community will know who Jesus is by the love and unity we show to each other as we have true fellowship. We are COMMITTED… a people who believe that our relationships should be initiatives. We believe that we have received gifts from God and it is our responsibility to identify, appreciate and prepare God’s people for works of service. As we present our very selves to God we expect to have every aspect of our lives transformed through obedience to the Word of God made possible through the power of the Holy Spirit. We believe that this should be reflected in the proper use and prioritization of our time, resources and talents to serve others and not simply to satisfy our own interests. We are CONCERNED… a people who believe and take seriously our mandate from Jesus in Matthew 28:19. “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” We believe that we must reach out to our families, communities and city with the transforming message of Christ. We will demonstrate this in strategic and practical ways as we touch the lives that God has placed in our realm of influence.
