A pastor wears SO many hats! He’s a shepherd, a teacher, a counselor, a leader, a prayer warrior, and so much more. He celebrates with us on the mountaintops, stands beside us in the valleys, prays for us when we’re struggling, and faithfully serves even when no one sees the work that goes on behind the scenes. ❤️

Pastoring is so much more than preaching a sermon on Sunday morning. It’s a calling that requires love, sacrifice, patience, and a heart devoted to serving God and His people. This Pastor Appreciation Day, we want to show Pastor Major just how much he means to us and how grateful we are for his faithfulness, leadership, and love for our church family!

Amanda keeps the lyrics flowing, the slides on point, AND helps lead us in worship! 🎶 She’s proof that you can serve behind the screen AND in front of the congregation! 😉

Whether she’s clicking through the next slide or lifting her voice in worship, Amanda uses her gifts to help make Sundays special here at Overton Church. ❤️

We’re so thankful for people who serve faithfully, use their talents, and make ministry happen in ways both seen and unseen!

Next time the lyrics pop up right on cue, just know there’s a good chance Amanda is working her ProPresenter magic! 🪄😂

We’re celebrating 80 years of ministry—80 years of God’s faithfulness, not only around the world, but right here in our own city. Generations have walked through these doors, found community, encountered Jesus, and helped carry the Gospel forward. 🙌

Whether Overton has been your church home for years, you’ve visited us before, or you’re a family member who has been part of the Overton story, this celebration is for YOU! And if you’ve never been to Overton before, you are absolutely welcome too! ❤️

Come celebrate the heritage, the people, and most importantly, the God who has been faithful through it all.

🎚️ BEHIND THE SERVE: ANDREW HANCOCK 🎚️

Every church has that guy behind the sound booth… and at Overton, that guy is Andrew Hancock. 😂

Andrew runs sound during worship, which means he’s responsible for making sure you can hear every note, every lyric, and every “AMEN!” loud and clear. And yes… he probably hears things from that sound booth that the rest of us don’t. 👀😂

But Andrew doesn’t just stay behind the board. He’s always willing to jump in and help wherever he’s needed. Whether he’s running sound, solving a random problem, or just lending a hand, Andrew is one of those people who quietly serves wherever there’s a need.

We’re thankful for his willingness to use his gifts, his time, and probably at least a little bit of patience 😜 to serve our church family!

What a Sunday at Overton! 🙌🏼❤️

Yesterday, we sang The Joy, God Is for Us, and Gratitude—reminding us that our joy is found in Him, He is always for us, and we have so much to be grateful for!

Our message took us to Genesis 24, where Abraham sends his servant to find a wife for Isaac. Rebekah’s story gives us such a beautiful picture of the Church—the Bride of Christ—and the servant’s mission points us toward the day when Christ returns for His Bride. 👰🏼‍♀️✨

Just as Rebekah was prepared to meet her bridegroom, we are called to live ready and faithful as we await the return of Jesus. We may not know the day or the hour, but we know the Bridegroom is coming!

““Who is that man walking through the fields to meet us?” she asked the servant. And he replied, “It is my master.”
‭‭Genesis‬ ‭24‬:‭65‬

One day, we too will meet our Bridegroom. Are we ready? ❤️
