Hello North Shelby Ladies! I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and is looking forward to the New Year! I wanted to update you on pertinent Women’s Ministry information coming your way in Jan 2026.
The Women’s Ministry “Breaking Bread and Board Games” Kick Off Event will take place on Sunday, January 4th at 5:00PM in the Youth Room! We will be fellowshipping over a catered meal by Olive Garden, hearing from the ladies facilitating our Sunday evening classes this term, and amping up for our Women’s Ministry Retreat in February! Please register on Realm for the Kick Off Event so we know how much food to order. We hope to see you there!!
Your 3 class options on Sunday evenings beginning January 11th are:
Kelly Gilliand will be teaching a Bible Study on the Book of Esther focusing on how our Lord is faithful to keep his promises and deliver his people ultimately pointing us to the gospel. As a text supplement, Kelly will be using Esther: The Hidden Hand of God, by Lydia Brownback. She will outline the reading schedule the first week of class. You can purchase that workbook by this link: https://a.co/d/9hUEiSq
Maggie Boggan will be teaching a book study using Jerry Bridges book, Trusting God. Life can feel heavy and dark and lead us to questions like, “Why is God allowing this?” or “Is God in control?” This book focuses on God’s sovereignty, his care, his control, and that trusting him can lead you through heartache to hope. Maggie will do a preview of Chapter 1 the first week. You are welcome to read Chapter 1, but it is not necessary prior to the start of class. You can purchase the book/workbook combo from this link: https://a.co/d/44fqKVn
Melissa Horton will be facilitating a class covering Rosario Butterfield’s book Five Lies of Our Anti-Christian Age. This book confronts five dangerous beliefs about sexuality, faith, feminism, gender roles, and modesty using Christian theology to help preserve the godly values around womanhood, marriage, and motherhood. Melissa plans to cover the Foreword and Introduction the first class. You can purchase your book using this link: https://a.co/d/3eEbU8H
Lastly, the Women’s Ministry Newsletter for the January-March quarter will be delayed due to the holidays. Anticipate us pushing that out Sunday, Jan 11th!
In Him,
Melanie and the Women’s Team
