The service of Evening Prayer is offered for those who yearn for peaceful meditation on God’s word away from the noisy chaos of the world. Christ the Light of the world overcomes the darkness which seeks to overshadow us. His peace passes all understanding and keeps our hearts and minds in his gracious loving care. Join us this Sunday evening for a quiet reflection on God's grace and mercy with Pastor Kurtis Schultz.
Our service is available whenever and wherever you are on our YouTube channel--First Lutheran Church Birmingham, AL and on FaceBook. God's heart is always open!

"Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. For truly, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the Law until all is accomplished. " Matthew 5:10-20
Join us Sunday morning in person or online for worship service with Pastor Tommy Presley and hear the word, "When Will We Meet Him Again?"

This Sunday is a special recognition for the Lutheran Women in Mission (LWML) a powerful organization for women in our congregation who serve the Lord with Gladness. The Sundays of this time of the Church Year are known as Sundays after Pentecost (or Sundays after Trinity). Picking up on Pentecost as the season of growth, they are often referred to as the Green Sundays. The readings focus on the life of Christ in His Church. We hear Jesus teaching His disciples and healing the faithful. Because the Pentecost season is part of ordinary" time, congregations may choose to observe some of the lesser festivals of the season.

During the Time o f the Church, we focus on growing together in the life of the Holy Trinity.
Acts 2:41-47 Ephesians 1:15-23 Ephesians 3:14-19 Colossians 3:12-17

PRACTICES AND TRADITIONS
