Lately I've been in this place of no longer trying to prove to God that I'm worthy of His love but truly being still in every moment and fully embracing His love for me. I don't know if you're like me or not but some how I felt as if one could only receive a love so pure and unconditional with works. For months now He's removed the scales from my eyes regarding His grace and His mercy but in a way that speaks of His love, a Fatherly love that He knew would tear down walls of offense and bitterness that were built from my own lack of understanding.
The depth of love has been so loud to me, agape love... imagine someone loving you so much that they would give up something so precious to them to prove it to you, or better yet would take your shoes and walk in them to show you and lay down His life to express it to you, removing any and all barriers or obstacles that would hinder you from accessing His love for you. That may not mean much to you until you look back on the times where you compromised your authenticity to get someone to see that you're worthy of receiving their imperfect love for you... I believe so many of us have only to find that imperfect love never satisfies. But man, the love of God, His unconditional love, His life giving love, His pure love..it truly satisfies. And get this, He loves you just as you are in EVERY season, no matter how many mistakes you've made, how deep in sin you've been.
**Romans 5:8 - But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
