Hi friends! For those of you who don’t know, JT underwent back surgery this past week. We’ve had a journey that is harder than anticipated. Originally we were anticipating leaving the next day. However, we ended up having to stay a few days and returned tonight due to some issues with one of the meds. We are home now but the healing is going to be a longer process than anticipated. Please pray for continued healing and strength during this recovery for JT!

After a lifetime of serving others, Pastor Morales now faces the fight of his life.

Our beloved Pastor Morales, who has faithfully led Iglesia Bautista Jerusalen in Guatemala for over 40 years, has been diagnosed with aggressive prostate cancer. His condition is critical, and treatment must begin immediately.

For more than four decades, Pastor Morales has poured himself into ministry—preaching the gospel, discipling believers, planting churches, and bringing the hope of Christ to communities far and wide. Alongside his devoted wife, Miriam, he has reached into the most remote villages and the busiest city streets, never hesitating to answer the call to serve. Their lives have been a testament to faith, sacrifice, and love.

Today, it’s Pastor Morales who needs us to stand in the gap.

The road ahead is uncertain and steep. The cancer is advanced, and urgent, specialized medical care is required. This includes not only treatments and medications, but travel and ongoing living expenses. In Guatemala, medical insurance is not available—especially for those in full-time ministry. On top of that, Pastor Morales and Miriam must continue working their jobs to make ends meet, adding a heavy emotional and physical burden to an already difficult journey.

That’s why One Way Ministries is raising $250,000 to cover:

Life-saving cancer treatments

Travel for medical care

Ongoing living expenses during recovery

Support for Miriam as she walks alongside him

Last week Pastor Morales was diagnosed with prostate cancer. He is undergoing further tests to determine the extent of the cancer and what treatments will be necessary. This is a very heavy burden for him and his family. It comes at a time when not only the church family but his own family are struggling with many things. Please join us in praying for healing, wisdom and discernment during these next steps. We will be announcing in the coming days a platform for giving that will allow the One Way family to get involved in a tangible way to support the financial needs that will be coming for Pastor Morales and his family. Please pray for his wife Miriam as well as she walks with him through this, while she struggles with a shoulder that needs to be replaced. Her commitment is to prioritize his needs first, yet she struggles daily with pain and loss of use often times.
