On Trinity Sunday, Bishop G joined Trinity Church in Demopolis for her annual visitation, during which she confirmed one individual into the Communion.

We give thanks to God for this steadfast faith community and for its ministry of serving God and neighbor in the Black Belt since 1834.

What a joyful Day of Pentecost at St. John’s Church in Decatur! We give thanks to God for all those who were confirmed, received, and baptized during the Bishop’s visit, and we celebrate the work of the Holy Spirit among the saints in this faithful community.

“Almighty God, on this day you opened the way of eternal life to every race and nation by the promised gift of your Holy Spirit: Shed abroad this gift throughout the world by the preaching of the Gospel, that it may reach to the ends of the earth; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.”

Clergy and lay preachers from across the Diocese gathered last Thursday at the Cathedral Church of the Advent for a wonderful Clergy Day with the Rev. Dr. Will Willimon.

Currently serving as Professor of the Practice of Christian Ministry at Duke Divinity School, the Rev. Dr. Willimon shared reflections from his book, Leading with the Sermon: Preaching as Leadership, and spoke on the vital connection between preaching, leadership, and the work of the Holy Spirit in the life of the Church.

Thanks be to God for such a time of learning and fellowship, and to everyone who helped make the day a success.

What a meaningful season of fellowship for our ECW over the last couple of weeks. From the annual Black Belt Convocation gathering at Christ Church Tuscaloosa, to the Mountain Convocation at St. Joseph's on-the-Mountain , ECW members came together in faith and friendship to share meaningful conversations, worship, delicious meals, and hear inspiring messages from gifted speakers, including Dr. Jim Jolly and National ECW President Lisa Bortner.

We give thanks for the faithful community, ministry, and continued work of the ECW throughout our diocese.

We give thanks for a joyful and blessed Seventh Sunday of Easter across our diocese!

At the Cathedral Church of the Advent, Bishop G enjoyed a great annual visit, during which she confirmed 50 individuals and received four into the Communion.

At St. Mary's in Jasper, the saints welcomed summer camp staff from Camp McDowell for worship and fellowship.

May God continue to strengthen and guide all who are growing in faith and service throughout our diocesan family.
