Proverbs 13:3 reminds us, “Those who guard their lips preserve their lives, but those who speak rashly will come to ruin.”

As we continue all that God is doing here at First Baptist, this verse is such an important reminder for each of us. The words we choose matter. In moments of stress, growth, transition, teamwork, and even excitement, we are called to speak with wisdom, grace, patience, and love. Our words have the power to encourage, heal, unite, and reflect Christ to those around us.

At First Baptist, may we continue to build one another up, communicate with kindness, and guard our hearts and mouths so that everything we say honors God and strengthens our church family. Let our conversations reflect unity, humility, and the mission we have been entrusted with together.

Before we speak, may we ask:
Is it loving?
Is it helpful?
Is it honoring to God?

When we lead with wisdom and grace, we create an environment where people feel valued, supported, and drawn closer to Christ.

Yesterday, May 3 was Rev. Alaric May’s last Sunday with us, and it’s hard to put into words what his time here has truly meant.

Rev. May, thank you for being a dutiful man of the Word. In such a short time, you helped lead us to make meaningful strides—even up a rough mountainside. The journey may not have been long, but the climb wasn’t easy… and still, you led us a mighty long way. Through your teaching, your preaching, your prayers, and your faithful works—God showed Himself. It was seen, it was felt, and it will not be forgotten.

Sometimes God sends people for a season—not because it will be easy, but because it will be meaningful. And you, Rev. May, poured into us in a way that made a lasting impact. Your faithfulness, your devotion, your leadership, your integrity, and your willingness to fight the good fight and stand on God’s Word—you have been a pure example of it all.

The truth is—you were loved here. You were appreciated here. And you made a difference here.

We also want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Lady Nicole and your beautiful children. Thank you for sharing him with us, for standing beside him, and for the strength and support you’ve given along the way. Your family has been a blessing to us as well.

As you continue to walk boldly in your calling and dedication to the work of the Lord, please know you don’t leave empty—you leave seeds, strength, and a standard. First Baptist loves you deeply. You will truly be missed, but we are confident that you are already blessed by the Best.

“Let us not grow weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.” — Galatians 6:9

May God bless you and keep you, and may His peace and presence go before you in everything ahead. We are better because of your time with us—and that will never change. 🤍

Happy Monday First Baptist Church Family and Friends! ☀️

What a powerful message we received on yesterday from Pastor Cox, “Woe Unto You,” taken from Jonah 4:1–3. If you missed it, we encourage you to go back and watch this impactful sermon.

Verse of the Day: Matthew 5:14
“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden.”

Let’s continue to walk in that light and represent Christ in all that we do.

Here are your weekly announcements and updates. Please mark your calendars for the upcoming events, and we encourage each of you to serve in any way you can to help make them a success.

Let’s also continue to keep our church lifted in prayer—covering every leader, every member, and every effort.

We love you all and are grateful for each of you!
