Northstar history was made this month at May Madness!

For the first time ever, both of our ASL teams played in championship games at the same time. The U12 Boys battled their way to a second-place finish, while the U14 Boys captured their first-ever tournament gold as a team!

We’re incredibly proud of the hard work, growth, and determination these players have shown all season. Congratulations, boys, you earned it!

We will be hosting Alabama State League (ASL) tryouts on May 18–20 from 6:15–7:00 PM for players interested in a more competitive level of play this fall.

A couple important notes for families:

We do not yet know exactly which ASL teams we will be forming for the fall season. Team offerings will depend on interest and evaluations during tryouts.
For players who are not interested in ASL, or who prefer a different level of competition, we will continue to offer Futures-level club teams as an alternative pathway.

We are incredibly grateful to Birmingham Legion FC for the opportunity to bring players from across NorthStar Soccer Ministries to the official opening of the Birmingham FIFA Mini Pitch with USMNT player Chris Richards.

Our players not only got to hear from influential leaders in Birmingham, but also had the unforgettable experience of breaking in the new pitch and even stepping on the field with Chris Richards himself.

Moments like these inspire the next generation both on and off the field.

Our NorthStar Referee Program is about so much more than learning the rules of the game, it’s about developing leaders.

Through training, mentorship, and real-game experience, these young referees are growing in confidence, communication, and integrity every time they step on the field. They play a vital role in creating a positive environment for players, coaches, and families, and they’re doing it with excellence.

We’re incredibly proud of the hard work, growth, and commitment they’ve shown all season long. 👏

They don’t just officiate the game, they help shape the culture of it.
