One Voice

One Voice The magazine of the Diocese of Birmingham in Alabama. Inspiring stories of personal witness, Catholic life, theology, culture and more.

On January 1, 1971, the first issue of the One Voice newspaper arrived in the mailboxes of the faithful with Bishop Joseph Vath as its founder, Father John Igoe as editor, Sally Crockett as the manager, Rose Lovett as the editorial assistant and John May as the circulation manager. Over the decades that followed, the newspaper informed the people of the Diocese of Birmingham not only about news wi

thin the diocese and around the world, but also about their Catholic faith. With digital media playing a major role in the way news is acquired, in late 2021 the One Voice newspaper evolved into the One Voice magazine. The magazine will build on its roots as a teaching newspaper and squarely focus in on the mission of the diocese – evangelization. Each issue will feature stories of personal witness, Catholic life, theology, culture, and more. The One Voice is published six times a year and mailed to all households registered with a parish in the Diocese of Birmingham in Alabama.
