Changed Lives Christian Center (CLCC) Changed Lives Christian Center - Birmingham, AL CLCC offers more that just the short term solution of feeding them and sheltering them overnight.

Changed Lives Christian Center is a faith based ministry that offers transitional housing for men who are recovering from homelessness, whether from the economic recession, other personal issues, or any other reason. The mission of Changed Lives Christian Center is to take human beings who are presently homeless and weave them back into the fabric of productive society. The center currently houses

men for up to two years, provides a mailing address, assists in obtaining Social Security cards and driver's licenses, offers medical and dental care, teaches life skills, and helps secure employment. Residents open savings accounts, learn personal financial management, and pay monthly rent to live at CLCC. Changed Lives Christian Center is an outgrowth of THE NEST, a ministry that has been working with the homeless people of Birmingham since 1998. Changed Lives Christian Center has been endorsed by the City of Birmingham, Operation New Birmingham, and numerous community and neighborhood associations.

We are honored to announce that Changed Lives Christian Center has been recognized as Alabama’s newest AARR-certified recovery residence!

This certification, awarded by the AARR - Alabama Alliance for Recovery Residences, affirms that CLCC meets nationally recognized standards set by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) for operating a quality recovery program.

We are grateful for our dedicated staff, faithful supporters, and the Alabama Department of Mental Health for helping make this possible. Together, we’re creating a safe, supportive environment where men can build a new life in long-term recovery.

Community is a team sport. ⚽️🙌

We had an amazing time at our CLCC Kickball Game, joined by volunteers, friends, and neighbors who came together for some friendly competition and fun. Moments like these remind us that community isn’t just about where we live—it’s about how we live, play, and grow together.

Big thanks to everyone who showed up, kicked hard, cheered louder, and proved once again that we’re stronger when we gather.

Here’s to many more days celebrating the joy and strength found in community!
