Our Sunday School Lesson for tomorrow is titled:The Offering of Cain and Abel
Gen4:1-16
After the temptation & fall of Adam and Eve, in the Garden of Eden, they were cursed & put out of The Garden of Eden forever..Adam, then, knew his wife & she conceived & bore her first son, Cain. She acknowledged that he was a gift from God. She, then, had another son. His name was Abel. Both grew & had respectable occupations. Abel was a keeper of sheep, & Cain, a tiller of the ground. When it was time, they both brought offerings to the Lord. Cain brought, unto the Lord, an offering of fruit that he produced, from the ground. Abel brought unto the Lord an offering of the firstborn of his flock & of their fat..The Lord respected & was well pleased with Abels offering, but not that of the offering of Cain's. Cain became angry, so much so that it showed on his face. The Lord, then, asked Cain why was he angry & his facial expression had fallen?
Instead of Cain being repentant, he seem to be a little hostile towards God. God reminds Cain that if he does well, he will be accepted, but if he doesn't do well, sin lies at the door welcoming him, but he should rule over it & no it over you....Later Cain & Abel had a conversation, & when they were in the field, Cain killed his brother Abel..The Lord asked Cain where was Abel, his brother. Cain, knowing very well what he'd done, asked the Lord, Am I my brother's keeper? Eventhough the Lord already knew, He asked Cain what had he done because the voice of his brother's blood cries out to Him from the ground...God then tells Cain that he is cursed from the earth, which has opened its mouth to receive his brother's blood, from his hand...The Lord then tells him his gift of tilling will no longer be effective for him & a fugitive & vagabond he will be, meaning he will always be a wanderer with no permanent place to lay his head., but Cain, still unrepentant & selfish, only thought of himself & how this curse was too much for him to bear, fearing that he would be killed by anyone who finds him. God, in being the Loving and Sovereign God that He is, helps Cain, by saying, that whoever kills Cain, vengence will be taken on him sevenfold & He set a mark on Cain, so that he would not be killed...Cain then went out of the presence of the Lord & dwelt in the land of Nod, on the east of Eden.
Cain's spirit wasn't right & it reflected in his offering to God. His unsettling spirit further revealed itself when sins continue to build up. He killed his brother, lied to God, & became angry, never ever feeling the need to repent, so he paid the price for the sins he caused upon himself...
Remember to give God what required. Give to Him your best.
Give with a zealous spirit.
Don't give just a little something, just to say that you gave. Give from the heart & because you want to. Give God what's right & not what's left.
Give in faith, not out of fear, and watch how the Lord Bless You. Have a Wonderful Worship Experience and Blessed Day and always Pray ππΎππΎ
