Why do suffering, evil, and hardship continue if God is good? Join us June 12–14 for a thoughtful and engaging weekend with Rev. Dr. Angela Dienhart Hancock as we explore faithful and practical ways Christians wrestle with “the bad stuff” in life. Through theology, conversation, and reflection, we’ll consider how God’s promises meet the realities of pain, loss, and uncertainty.
📅 Friday, June 12 | 6:30–8:00 PM
Session One: God’s Promises and the Bad Stuff
Explore the relationship between God’s promises and the realities of sin, evil, suffering, and death through influential theological and philosophical perspectives.
📅 Saturday, June 13 | 9:00 AM–1:00 PM (includes lunch)
Session Two: Mapping Local Theodicies

Session Three: Practical Theodicy
Discover practical ways Christian communities can worship, care for one another, and support those who suffer even when we don’t have all the answers.
