Believe it or not, this Sunday marks the beginning of Advent! With that in mind, we'll be starting our new Advent series, "Changed in the waiting."

Here's what The Foundry has to say about this series, "The virtues of hope, love, joy, and peace are the hallmarks of God’s work in all of history. Advent is especially marked by these virtues, and so are we when we lean into the transformational opportunity of this unique season in the Christian calendar."

I am so excited because we will see a few of our own students preaching in this series! Be on the lookout for moments to celebrate the students for the way they're being used by the Lord to serve the rest of the group!

Our Scavenger Hunt was a major success! Thank you to all of the volunteers that made this event possible, our friends from Brookside who came to join in the fun, and to Taylor Watts for the immense amount of time and effort she put into planning this event!

SERMON SERIES UPDATE!

This year in BNC Youth Ministries the goal we are looking to accomplish through our teaching and preaching is to answer the question, "What does it mean to live a life WITH Jesus?" This series is made to do just that, to create a space where students can be vulnerable and reflective about what may be going on in their minds and lives under the surface of what others may see; to take an honest look at ourselves and authentically enter into the presence of a loving and holy God as we seek to me made more into his image each day. My hope is that by the end of this series students will know with certainty that they are fully known and fully loved by a God that offers them life abundantly.

MEET DYLAN!

Dylan is a freshman this year and this will be his first year serving on the BNC Youth Council. Dylan has always brought energy to this ministry and I am excited to see that energy used to serve others! I am blessed to know and serve alongside him. Along with coordinating events/activities for BNC Youth, he is responsible for sharing the weekly announcements at youth group. I can't wait to see how God continues to use him!

MEET PAIGE!

Paige is a sophomore this year and this will be her first year serving on the BNC Youth Council. Paige attends the Pottstown Nazarene Church and is on the council to represent the students that are apart of our Pottstown Bus Ministry! Connecting with Paige and watching her serve has been a major blessing. Along with coordinating events/activities for BNC Youth, she is responsible for documenting our events with her camera! I can't wait to see how God continues to use her!

MEET TAYLOR!

Taylor is a junior this year and this will be her second year serving on the BNC Youth council. Her love for this ministry and her leadership skills have only grown in the time that she's spent serving BNC Youth! She's intentionally connects with others and is always looking for new ways to lead! Along with coordinating events/activities and occasionally preaching at youth group, she is responsible for leading worship each week. I am so blessed by her and her willingness to lead. I can't wait to see how God continues to use her!

MEET MICAH!

Micah is a junior this year and this will be his second year serving on the Youth Council. I loved watching Micah grow in his leadership skills over the course of this last year and am excited to see how God continues to use him! You'll mostly see Micah running around and goofing off with everyone at youth group; he's truly proven to be a very natural relationship builder! Along with coordinating events/activities and occasionally preaching at youth group, he is responsible for preparing and leading the games each week. I am so blessed by Micah's willingness to continue to lead.

MEET ELYSE!

Elyse has been serving on the church board as our NYI president for just over a year, and with each passing day we are more and more blessed to have her on this team! She is a faithful volunteer and works tirelessly to make sure that all students feel loved, safe, and welcome. I couldn't imagine this ministry without Elyse's heart for our students. I am so excited to see how God continues to use her in this next school year! (I know that I am a better pastor having known and served alongside her. ❤️)

MEET OUR TEAM!

BNC Youth Ministries is a living, breathing organism ran by our BNC Youth Council! This council is made up of 5 AMAZING leaders that are capable, talented, and deeply compassionate. They are truly one of the greatest gifts God has ever blessed BNC Youth Ministries with! It's so exciting watching them use their gifts to expand the kingdom; it's like seeing glimpses of heaven on earth.

I often tell people that our Youth Council is the skeleton of BNC Youth Ministries. They work together to plan events geared toward students' interests, care for students' by building relationships and intentionally checking in with others each week, and by teaching/preaching throughout the year! Over the course of the next week you will be hearing about each of these individuals and how they'll be using their individual gifts to serve this ministry this school year!

Adults: If you see them around make sure to let them know just how important their service is to BNC!
Council: You are loved and appreciated more than I could ever express ❤️

NEW SERMON SERIES UPDATE!

BNC Youth Ministries is currently participating in our all church series, "Change Your World." In this 5-week series we are going to be looking at 5 everyday practices that will help us love our neighbors and change the world! This past Sunday we started this series by talking about the importance of prayer.

Adults: Ask BNC Youth about the people they've decided to pray over through this series.
Youth: You're awesome, and I am so excited to participate in this prayer journey with you!
