We continue our series using the stained glass windows for inspiration. Today…the Prophets.

The prophet’s role was to speak to God and relay the instructions. And God usually engages unexpected people to deliver his messages. This is where we meet Micah, a somewhat surly individual. He spoke out about corruption and false prophets of his day. Economic insecurity and violence were prevalent. He spoke of the future foreshadowing Christ, a babe born in Bethlehem, and a future of peace. God acts in delightful and unexpected ways!

Someone once told me, “Food is the love language of Our Savior's Lutheran Church - Bird Island.” I’m not quite certain why they think that. 🤣

Another successful Ice Cream Social is in the books! Thank you to those who support our cause by dining in, dining out, volunteering and organizing.

This years proceeds are being given to Roger Minnick. He was unable to attend this event but his family was here and we hope they felt the love and support of the community!

Well… you ask the parishioners at Our Savior’s to lend a hand and just look at what happens! Thank you to the volunteers and organizers.

We took out at least one tree today while working on the landscaping. We may be replacing that tree and perhaps some bushes too. If you were unable to participate physically today and wish to support the effort you can send a contribution for new plants to the church at PO Box 176, Bird Island, MN 55310 and write “landscaping” in the memo.

We continue our series using the stained glass windows for inspiration. Today…the Psalms.

Music plays an important part of our lives; the words, the beat, the groove. The Psalms originally WERE set to music, but over the years we’ve lost the melodies.

Psalms are something we can go back to just like our music playlists. Use them within your own life to lift you, calm you, or inspire you. They can be a reflection of your mood, or help you change your outlook. Some are familiar, some feel new to us as we experience different things in life. Revisit them frequently, you may be surprised by what they bring to you each time.
