πΏ Tuesday, June 9 | Roots
A tree that survives a storm does not do it with its branches.
It does it with its roots.
The branches bend. They whip and crack and sometimes break entirely. But if the roots go deep enough β if they have pushed down into solid ground over enough years β the tree stands. Not because the storm was not real. Because the foundation was deeper than the storm could reach.
"Blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in Him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit." β Jeremiah 17:7-8
No worries in a year of drought. Not because the drought is not real β but because the roots reach something the drought cannot touch.
