I have been watching, with growing concern, the growth of "antisemitism" in the media. Emotions and expressions of hatred against Israel and Jewish people has, according to mainstream, as well as conservative media risen to a fever pitch. I am not sure where my FB friends stand on the issue so this post might cost me a few. on the other hand, if you stand where the Scriptures stand, I could want no better friend.

The reality of the situation is that if you profess to love God, then you should love Israel. Even as I read that God has set Israel aside for a time, the nation is still the people of God, and still the "apple of God's eye". Down through Israel's history, he has often caused God to judge and chasten him, but God has never forsaken him.

We are admonished to "pray for the peace of Jerusalem" - as much as we might not like the politicians that are running the country (Israel), we ought to be obedient to God. BTW, we ought to be praying for the "right" to evangelize in Israel. Those people will never no the depth of the love of God until they know the Christ, the Messiah, of the Gospel.
