It was a HUGE month at Christ Church, in addition to all those receiving food through our Food Pantry Experiment, we also fed another 90 individuals through our collaboration with CHOW and clothed 202 people.

For September, our pantry and clothing closet return to our normal hours — Monday (12:30-1:30), Wednesday (3:30-5:30), and Friday (12:30-1:30) for the last two weeks on the month.

We will be examining that data we collected during the Food Pantry Experiment, and then discerning how we move forward for October. Stay tuned!

News from across the pond…

Our very own Mtr. Jaime Wright, PhD, has settled into her new office at Ripon College Cuddesdon as she undertakes the post of Tutor in Theology.

The results are in, and this month during the Great Food Pantry Experiment, we fed 763 individuals by giving away 4658 pounds of food. Throughout this process, we learned a lot about the needs of our community. 82% of the folks who came to our pantry were from the City of Binghamton and 31% were children; 19% live on the street and 13% live in one of the three downtown shelters. We learned about needs, heard stories of resiliency, and rejoiced at the little miracles that unfolded before us.

Thank you so much to our partners Good Neighbors NY and CHOW for their support, and all of the organizations that contributed along the way, including Rotary Club of Binghamton, VINES:Volunteers Improving Neighborhood Environments, and United Way of Broome County. And thank you especially to all of the volunteers who gave of their time to make this possible.
