Dearest Parishioners;

It is with great sadness we announce that the granddaughter of Nicholas and Nicole Humphrey, Baby Raelynn Nikole Lyon, passed away this past Sunday.

We extend our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Baby Raelynn Nikole Lyon. Please continue to pray for Baby Raelynn's parents, Alex Lyon & Paige Humphrey and their family & friends.

Calling Hours for Baby Raelynn is on Friday, August 21, 2026 from 2:00pm to 3:00pm at MacPherson Funeral Home of Newark Valley, New York.

A small memorial service will follow the Visitation at 3:00pm.

This Saturday, August 15th is the Dormition of the Theotokos (Holy Day of Obligation): Festal Divine Liturgy will be 9:30 am at Holy Spirit Church.
Reminder: To commemorate the Dormition, flowers may be brought to both churches THIS Sunday, August 16th for blessing. A table will be set up at both churches. Please place the flowers you would like blessed on the table​ and they will be blessed at the 9:00 am & 11:00 am liturgies.

Dearest Parishioners,
I deeply apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you, but I have had a death in my family. My Uncle Michael passed away early in the morning on Friday, August 7, 2026. The funeral for my uncle is on Friday in Pennsylvania. Due to distance and time, it is impossible to have Great Vespers on Friday, August 14, 2026 at 6:30pm at Holy Spirit for the Feast of the Dormition. We will be celebrating the Festal Divine Liturgy on Saturday, August 15, 2026 at 9:30am at Holy Spirit. This is a location change from the original schedule that had already went out. I apologize again if there is any inconvenience this may have caused you. I realize that the Dormition Feast Day is a Day of Precept, meaning we need to celebrate as a parish family and community and are obligated to gather for this important feast. Due to the elimination of Great Vespers on Friday, if the change makes it impossible for you to attend on Saturday, please contact me at [email protected] or 607-203- 1151. A lifelong parishioner of Holy Spirit Church, Helen fell asleep in the Lord on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at the age of 96.
