As another school year comes to a close, we give thanks for the educators and leaders across the Diocese of Biloxi who faithfully serve our Catholic schools.

Under the leadership of Jennifer Broadus, Superintendent of Catholic Schools, and Tricia Harvey as Administrative Coordinator of Catholic Schools, our principals and assistant principals look forward to another year of forming young people in faith, knowledge, and service.

As we look ahead, the Office of Catholic Education and Bishop Kihneman are pleased to welcome several educators into new leadership roles within our school communities:

Dr. Pam Pannell as Principal of St. Patrick Catholic High School. A product of Catholic education, parishioner of St. James Parish, and parent of three St. Patrick students, Dr. Pannell brings nearly two decades of experience in education and a deep commitment to faith formation, academic excellence, and the success of every student.

Lauren Ross as Principal of St. James Catholic School. A graduate of both St. James and St. John High School, Mrs. Ross returns to the school that helped shape her faith and education. With more than twenty years of educational experience and extensive service in Catholic schools, she brings both experience and a deep love for Catholic education to her new role.

Rhonda Powell as Assistant Principal of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic School. With more than 25 years of educational experience and ten years as an elementary school principal, Mrs. Powell brings a wealth of leadership and dedication to the St. Vincent de Paul community.

Natalie Chiniche as Assistant Principal of Holy Trinity Catholic School. With 15 years of experience in education and a passion for helping students succeed, Ms. Chiniche brings a strong background in instructional leadership and student support to her new role.

On Thursday, June 11, 2026, as part of the celebration of the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, the bishops of the United States will consecrate our nation to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Parishes throughout the country are encouraged to join the bishops in marking this occasion.

We invite and encourage all to unite in prayer with the bishops and the Church throughout the United States. Bishop Kihneman asks that we include this occasion in the Masses celebrated in our parishes on the Solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus (June 12, 2026).

The USCCB has made several resources available for parishes, including prayers, guidance for local celebrations, videos, and a novena to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

The Diocese of Biloxi is pleased to announce a successful series of meetings held with representatives from our new partner, A.J. Gallagher, alongside current and retired employees. These meetings marked an important step in our transition from Christian Brother's Services to Gallagher, who will now manage our retirement plan.

Gatherings took place at Nativity Cathedral in Biloxi, MS, St. Thomas the Apostle in Long Beach, MS, and concluded at St. Thomas Aquinas in Hattiesburg, MS. The purpose of these meetings was to reaffirm our commitment to our employees and to provide a clear understanding of the new retirement plan.

We are grateful for the strong attendance and the engaging discussions that took place, addressing a wide range of questions and concerns. This dialogue reflects our dedication to transparency and support for our valued staff during this transition.
