This Mother's Day, I am asking you to join me in showing a little extra love to these centers and the women they support by participating in a virtual baby shower for pregnancy centers all across Mississippi.

January 22 | Day of Prayer for the Legal Protection of Unborn Children

Today we pause in prayer and reflection, uniting our hearts in peaceful observance of the day of Prayer and Penance for the Legal Protection of Unborn Children.

Not sure how to observe this day? You’re invited to choose one or more of the following or offer a prayer or sacrifice you feel called to make:

• Attend Mass
• Abstain from meat
• Pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet
• Fast
• Pray a decade of the Rosary
• Give up TV for the day
• Offer a Prayer for Life to Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament
• Sacrifice some of your free time to perform a small act of service for someone else

May our prayers today be offered with humility, compassion, and hope for the dignity of all human life. 🤍

Did you know? January 22 is a day of prayer and penance called the Day of Prayer for the Legal Protection of Unborn Children:

"In all the Dioceses of the United States of America, January 22 (or January 23, when January 22 falls on a Sunday) shall be observed as a particular day of prayer for the full restoration of the legal guarantee of the right to life and of penance for violations to the dignity of the human person committed through acts of abortion" (General Instruction of the Roman Missal, no. 373).
