This Sunday, TBC will celebrate the Lord's Supper. The service will be simple. We will open with an invitation. Our praise team will lead us in worship and adoration. The elements of Communion will be served.
The devotional for this Sunday is ready to go. Here are a few questions to ponder, and prayer prompts to help us prepare.
Love ya more than you know. Pastor Ricky
Questions to Ponder:
1. Looking Backward: Remembering the Sacrifice
Do I pause to truly visualize the weight of Christ's suffering, or have I treated the Lord's Supper as a routine religious ritual?
How does His broken body and shed blood personally apply to the forgiveness of my sins?
2. Looking Inward: Heart Examination
Is there any known, unconfessed sin in my life that I am currently holding onto?
Is my hope for acceptance with God resting solely on Christ, or on my own "goodness" and religious performance?
3. Looking Around: Community and Unity
Are there any unresolved conflicts, bitterness, or pride hindering my relationships with my brothers and sisters in Christ?
Do I truly recognize and value the unity of the church as I share this meal with others?
4. Looking Forward: Anticipation
Do I live with the expectation of His second coming and the ultimate "marriage supper of the Lamb"?
How can this tangible reminder of God's grace empower me to live in loving obedience throughout the coming week?
Prayer Prompts:
Remembering Christ's Sacrifice: Lord, help me remember the price You paid for my salvation. Thank You for Your body broken and Your blood shed for me. Deepen my gratitude for the cross and the mercy You freely gave. Help me never treat the Lord's Supper as ordinary or routine.
Confession and Repentance: Search my heart, and reveal any unconfessed sin within me. Forgive me for the sins I have tolerated, excused, or hidden. Help me turn away from anything that dishonors You.
Reconciliation with Others: Father, show me if there is bitterness, pride, or unforgiveness in my heart. Give me grace to forgive as Christ has forgiven me. Help me pursue peace and reconciliation with others. Remove division and restore unity within Your church.
Renewed Fellowship with Christ: Draw me near to You as I come to Your table. Renew my love for Christ and my joy in salvation. Help me abide in You and walk closely with You each day. Let this time strengthen my faith and dependence upon You.
Gratitude and Worship: Thank You for adopting me into Your family through Christ. Fill my heart with awe as I remember Your victory over sin and death.
Commitment and Obedience: Strengthen me to walk in holiness and obedience. Help me live in a manner worthy of the gospel. Give me the courage to stand firm in faith and share Christ with others. I desire my life to reflect the sacrifice and love of Jesus.
Hope and Anticipation: Thank You for the promise that Christ is coming again. Help me live with eternity in view. Increase my hope as I await the marriage supper of the Lamb. Keep my heart faithful until the day I see You face-to-face.
