Today, the community of Incarnation Monastery celebrated the Solemnity of The Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ, with Fr. George Abraham as celebrant.
As we give thanks for the gift of the Eucharist, may Christ continue to nourish us with His presence and draw us ever deeper into communion with God and one another.

On this Solemnity of the Holy Trinity, we celebrate the mystery of the one God who is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—a communion of perfect love.
May this feast draw us more deeply into the life of God and inspire us to reflect that love in our relationships, our communities, and our care for all creation.
Happy Feast of the Holy Trinity from New Camaldoli Hermitage.

Pentecost at New Camaldoli Hermitage.

With the close of the Easter season, we gathered beneath light, incense, chant, and silence to celebrate the descent of the Holy Spirit.

In the Camaldolese tradition, Pentecost is not only a remembrance of fire and wind, but also an invitation to interior renewal: the quiet work of the Spirit within the heart.

As Easter comes to its completion, we give thanks for all who joined us in prayer during these sacred fifty days.

‘Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle in them the fire of your love.’

We join in prayer for the Islamic Center of San Diego - ICSD and for all those affected by this heartbreaking tragedy.

Bishop Ramón Bejarano expresses his solidarity with Imam Taha, the Muslim community, and all those mourning and suffering in the wake of this senseless act of violence.

As followers of Jesus Christ, we are called to reject hatred and to help build bridges of peace, reconciliation, and human dignity.

Please join us in praying for the victims, their families, first responders, and the entire San Diego community.

Yesterday we celebrated the Solemnity of the Ascension of the Lord.

As Christ ascends to the Father, He reminds us that our hearts, too, are called to rise toward what is eternal, even amid the concerns and uncertainties of our time.

May this feast renew in all of us the desire to seek what is true, lasting, and filled with peace.

“In a culture that constantly demands noise, reaction, and immediacy, silence can become a forgotten form of presence.

This reflection on silence and leadership touches on something the monastic tradition has long known: silence is not emptiness, but the space where attentive listening, discernment, and wisdom can begin.

At New Camaldoli Hermitage, silence is not an escape from the world, but a different way of inhabiting it.

Today marks the first anniversary of the pontificate of Pope Leo XIV.

In a time marked by polarization, fear, and uncertainty, his voice has consistently called the Church back to something profoundly evangelical: not to close in on itself, but to remain close to human suffering, steadfast in truth, and open to hope.

Throughout this first year, Pope Leo XIV has reminded the world that the Christian faith cannot be reduced to ideology, spectacle, or power. The Gospel remains a call to reconciliation, to the dignity of every human person, and to the patient work of peace.

From New Camaldoli Hermitage, we join in prayer for the Holy Father, giving thanks for his ministry and asking God to grant him wisdom, strength, and serenity in the mission entrusted to him.

May the Church continue to be, amid the noise of the world, a place where the voice of God can still be heard.

Last weekend we were pleased to welcome members of the Theisms Club from California Polytechnic State University (Cal Poly) to New Camaldoli Hermitage.

The visit offered an opportunity for conversation, reflection, and encounter across different spiritual and philosophical traditions. We are always grateful to receive students and seekers who come with sincere questions, openness, and a desire for deeper understanding.

During their time at the Hermitage, the group learned about the Camaldolese monastic tradition, the balance of solitude and community, and the role of contemplation in Christian life.

We thank the students and organizers for their visit and assure them of our prayers as they continue their studies and spiritual journey.
