A SPIRITUAL MIND
By Dr Jack Hetzel
Devotion
Our thought life depends on success or defeat right or wrong good and bad. The choice is yours as God will never take our will or thinking away from us, it is up to us to make a quality decision as to how we think; the way to do this is to renew your mind by the Holy word of God.
You are not body, mind and spirit. You are a spirit that should be in charge our body and mind. You can decide how to think as our thinking is highly important to us for either good or bad. What other people see in us is through our words make all the difference.
Romans 8:4-8 (AMP)
So that the righteous and just requirement of the Law might be fully met in us who live and move not in the ways of the flesh but in the ways of the Spirit [our lives governed not by the standards and according to the dictates of the flesh, but controlled by the Holy Spirit]. For those who are according to the flesh and are controlled by its unholy desires set their minds on and pursue those things which gratify the flesh, but those who are according to the Spirit and are controlled by the desires of the Spirit set their minds on and seek those things which gratify the [Holy] Spirit. Now the mind of the flesh [which is sense and reason without the Holy Spirit] is death [death that comprises all the miseries arising from sin, both here and hereafter]. But the mind of the [Holy] Spirit is life and [soul] peace [both now and forever]. [That is] because the mind of the flesh [with its carnal thoughts and purposes] is hostile to God, for it does not submit itself to God's Law; indeed it cannot. So then those who are living the life of the flesh [catering to the appetites and impulses of their carnal nature] cannot please or satisfy God, or be acceptable to Him.
1 Corinthians 2:15-16 (AMP)
But the spiritual man tries all things [he examines, investigates, inquires into, questions, and discerns all things], yet is himself to be put on trial and judged by no one [he can read the meaning of everything, but no one can properly discern or appraise or get an insight into him].
For who has known or understood the mind (the counsels and purposes) of the Lord so as to guide and instruct Him and give Him knowledge? But we have the mind of Christ (the Messiah) and do hold the thoughts (feelings and purposes) of His heart.
Philippians 2:3-5 (AMP)
Do nothing from factional motives [through contentiousness, strife, selfishness, or for unworthy ends] or prompted by conceit and empty arrogance. Instead, in the true spirit of humility (lowliness of mind) let each regard the others as better than and superior to himself [thinking more highly of one another than you do of yourselves]. Let each of you esteem and look upon and be concerned for not [merely] his own interests, but also each for the interests of others. Let this same attitude and purpose and [humble] mind be in you which was in Christ Jesus: [Let Him be your example in humility:]
When we actually desire to please God and be successful in life we need to align our thought life with God’s word.

Proverbs 3:3-7 (KJV)
3 Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart:
4 So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man.
5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
7 Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil.

Proverbs 3:1-6 (KJV)
1 My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments:
2 For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee.
3 Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart:
4 So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man.
5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

PUTTING GOD’S WORD IN YOUR HEART
By Dr Jack Hetzel
Devotion 8-16-19
Every Christian should be putting the word of God into their heart each and every day to keep them strong in faith because faith comes by knowing what God says and taking action on His word.

Deuteronomy 6:4-6 (KJV)
The LORD our God is one LORD: And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart:

PROMISES TO THOSE WHO LIVE BY THE WORD OF GOD:
Deuteronomy 11:13-17 (KJV)
And it shall come to pass, if ye shall hearken diligently unto my commandments which I command you this day, to love the LORD your God, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul, That I will give you the rain of your land in his due season, the first rain and the latter rain, that thou mayest gather in thy corn, and thy wine, and thine oil. And I will send grass in thy fields for thy cattle, that thou mayest eat and be full. Take heed to yourselves, that your heart be not deceived, and ye turn aside, and serve other gods, and worship them; And then the LORD'S wrath be kindled against you, and he shut up the heaven, that there be no rain, and that the land yield not her fruit; and lest ye perish quickly from off the good land which the LORD giveth you.

When we see words like precepts, testimony, commandments and statuettes we should translate those words to mean God’s word, therefore I have added word to the scriptures.

Psalm 119:110-112 (AMP)
The wicked have laid a snare for me, yet I do not stray from Your precepts (word). Your testimonies (woes) have I taken as a heritage forever, for they are the rejoicing of my heart. I have inclined my heart to perform Your statutes (word) forever, even to the end.

Even though the words of Jesus were not understood by those hearing, His mother hid them in her heart.

Luke 2:50-52 (AMP)
But they did not comprehend what He was saying to them. And He went down with them and came to Nazareth and was [habitually] obedient to them; and his mother kept and closely and persistently guarded all these things in her heart. And Jesus increased in wisdom (in broad and full understanding) and in stature and years, and in favor with God and man. Emphasis added.

When studying the bible, which is the word of God, we should take it that is if our lord is talking with us person to person. Until the word is taken as it is written to them personally we cannot understand it.

Romans 10:8-10 (AMP)
But what does it say? The Word (God's message in Christ) is near you, on your lips and in your heart; that is, the Word (the message, the basis and object) of faith which we preach, Because if you acknowledge and confess with your lips that Jesus is Lord and in your heart believe (adhere to, trust in, and rely on the truth) that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart a person believes (adheres to, trusts in, and relies on Christ) and so is justified (declared righteous, acceptable to God), and with the mouth he confesses (declares openly and speaks out freely his faith) and confirms [his] salvation.

God desires and is anxious to help us live to please Him.

Galatians 5:16-19 (AMP)
But I say, walk and live [habitually] in the [Holy] Spirit [responsive to and controlled and guided by the Spirit]; then you will certainly not gratify the cravings and desires of the flesh (of human nature without God). For the desires of the flesh are opposed to the [Holy] Spirit, and the [desires of the] Spirit are opposed to the flesh (godless human nature); for these are antagonistic to each other [continually withstanding and in conflict with each other], so that you are not free but are prevented from doing what you desire to do. But if you are guided (led) by the [Holy] Spirit, you are not subject to the Law. Now the doings (practices) of the flesh are clear (obvious): they are immorality, impurity, indecency,

Did you know that there is great safety in God when we put our trust in Him?
Psalm 91:4-5 (ASV)
He will cover thee with his pinions, and under his wings shalt thou take refuge: His truth is a shield and a buckler. Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night, Nor for the arrow that flieth by day;
Did you know that God will make you a winner eventhough you are outnumbered?

LIVING BY FAITH 1
By Dr Jack Hetzel
Devotion 5-29-20
Anything we see is temporal, but the unseen is eternal.
Living by faith cannot be understood with the natural mind, so it could be said that living by faith is living a life pleasing to God because He is a faith God. As a child becomes dependent on the parents, so living by faith is depending on God’s provision.
Matthew 18:1-4 (KJV)
At the same time came the disciples unto Jesus, saying, Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven? And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them, And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven. Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
2 Corinthians 5:7 (KJV)
7 (For we walk by faith, not by sight:)
Any time our senses have to be involved, we are not living by faith, we are depending on what we see, feel, hear, smell or taste, we are not living by faith. Natural knowledge will many times keep us out of the will or plan of God for our life.
Look at Joshua when the battle was going well and he needed a little more day light to finish: by faith he stated: Sun Stand Still.
Joshua 10:12-13 (KJV)
Then spake Joshua to the LORD in the day when the LORD delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel, Sun, stand thou still upon Gibeon; and thou, Moon, in the valley of Ajalon. And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day.
Keep in mind, living by faith means: taking hold of the word of God, allowing it to permeate your spirit, the real you, the inner man and as mentioned in the bible many times as the heart then taking actions according to the word. Let us look at Abram, whom God later renamed Abraham.
When God told him what to do, he followed His word and is today called the father of faith.
God’s words to the Church:
Mark 16:15-18 (KJV)
And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.
When God spoke those words to Abram, he believed God and came out from among the heathen family and nation. He got out of his comfort zone.
Keep in mind, Abram had no laws to follow, he only took appropriate action and when he did God Tooke appropriate action to see that he was blessed and when you see the things that God promises He will take the necessary action to see that you get what He promises.
We are living in the dispensation of grace and the blessings of God belong to the believer. Grace means: God’s unearned and undeserved favor.
Ephesians 2:8-9 (KJV)
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.
Meaning of the word saved: Sozo: Heal, Healing, Recover, Save, Saving, Whole, Wholly, Wholesome: Strong's Talking Greek & Hebrew Dictionary.
My question is: Did God mean that this when He had St Paul to write the letter to the Ephesians? I know so. So we who know that we are saved gave all those words to be ours. So we act on His promise by faith and He heals, gives us healing, recovery, salvation, made whole wholly and wholesome. No question or doubt about that. This gives us reason to begin to praise God for all that the word saved means. Let it soak into your spirit.
Hebrews 11:1-2 (AMP)
NOW FAITH is the assurance (the confirmation, the title deed) of the things [we] hope for, being the proof of things [we] do not see and the conviction of their reality [faith perceiving as real fact what is not revealed to the senses]. For by [faith—trust and holy fervor born of faith] the men of old had divine testimony borne to them and obtained a good report. 1 Corinthians chapter 12.
When we by God’s grace and our believing what He has said in His word, we were saved, being and will continue to be saved in health, healing and recovering. It is all by God and all He requires of us is that we trust in and rely on Him in our everyday life.
Once we preset or commit something to God in faith, we can walk away knowing that it will be done even as we have stated. We speak with authority and have no need to repeat it to Satan or anyone on this earth. To us it is a done deal. God has given us that authority but religion has made it so we ask over and over again killing what faith we had.
Mark 11:22-24 (AMP)
And Jesus, replying, said to them, Have faith in God [constantly]. Truly I tell you, whoever says to this mountain, (problem) Be lifted up and thrown into the sea! and does not doubt at all in his heart but believes that what he says will take place, it will be done for him. For this reason I am telling you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe (trust and be confident) that it is granted to you, and you will [get it].
You have by faith:
Romans 12:3 (KJV)
3 For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.
