The Bridge

The Bridge Within a couple years, God had brought Pastor Bill Woughter and a small band to begin pouring themselves into each other and the community around them.

What is THE BRIDGE?
-Following Jesus, THE BRIDGE from death to Life.
-Becoming THE BRIDGE to our neighbors, co-workers, and friends.
-Strengthening THE BRIDGE of unity among the churches around us. The Bridge began when a small group of people who loved Jesus and came from several different churches stood on this property, what used to be a small farm and farmhouse prior to 1967, and asked God to

plant a church here to be a living, vibrant display of Jesus' love to the students, families, and staff of Big Flats Elementary. Big Flats Wesleyan Church was born! In it's 50th year, a year of vision clarification, the church reaffirmed the heart God had birthed them with; a deep longing to see Jesus revealed to the community, being a lived-out picture of Jesus' goodness, uniting with other area churches to love our neighbors well. This reaffirmation came with a new expression; a new name! The Bridge helped to establish this three-fold reality of our identity:

1) A people who follow Jesus; the Bridge from death to life
2) A people being the Bridge to our neighbors, co-workers, and friends
3) A people who build Bridges to other churches around us

With eagerness, we look forward to how we get to be a part of helping people "taste and see that the Lord is good"!

Tomorrow morning, before we gather as a church family, let’s gather around the presence of God.

If you’re able, consider fasting this evening as you prepare your heart for First Fruits—an unhurried hour of prayer, Scripture, and worship beginning at 9:00 AM before our 10:00 AM gathering.

Come expectant. Come hungry—for more of Jesus.

Why are we calling it First Fruits?

Throughout Scripture, first fruits were an act of worship—bringing God the first and best as an expression of trust and devotion.

That’s our heart for this gathering.

Before we come together on Sunday morning, we want to begin by seeking Him first. We’ll spend an hour in unhurried prayer, worship, and Scripture, simply making space for the Holy Spirit to speak and move.

If you’re able, we’d also encourage you to prepare your heart by fasting leading into Sunday as a way of intentionally setting your focus on Jesus.

Something new begins this Sunday.

Before our 10:00 AM gathering, we’re opening the doors at 9:00 AM for First Fruits—a simple hour of prayer, Scripture, and worship.

In a world that’s constantly asking for our attention, we want to intentionally give God the first part of our Sunday.

No agenda. No rush. Just making room for His presence.

We’d love for you to join us.

🚨🚨🚨WORK DAY UPDATE!🚨🚨🚨

✅It looks like the air quality will be getting better and better leading into the weekend and so we still plan on having our church workday.

⛪️There is some chance of rain here and there, so we will work outdoors while we can, but also have indoor projects available.

⏰We will be starting at 8 AM and going through to about 2 PM with snacks and lunch available throughout.

🙏If you can only make it for an hour or so, we’d love to have you for as long as you can be here!

🌿 Ground work always comes before the harvest.

On Saturday, July 18, we’re coming together to care for the place God has entrusted to us. Whether you’re handy, love working outside, prefer indoor projects, or just have a willing heart, there’s a place for you.

As we serve together, we’re believing God is preparing the ground for what He wants to do in and through our church in the season ahead.

🗓️ Saturday, July 18
🕗 8:00 AM–2:00 PM
🥪 Lunch & refreshments provided!

Bring your family, invite a friend, and let’s prepare the ground together for a new harvest. 🌱

Today, we reflect on the closing of Foundations Christian School.

For years, we have had the privilege of supporting and partnering with Foundations, and we are incredibly grateful for the impact this school has had on so many students, families, and teachers. We have watched lives be shaped, faith be nurtured, and a community built around a shared desire to know and follow Jesus.

While we grieve the closing of the school, we also want to honor the leadership, staff, teachers, and families who poured so much of themselves into this mission. We are proud of you. We trust the wrestle, the prayers, and the difficult decisions that have led to this moment.

As this chapter comes to a close, we are praying God’s blessing over every student, teacher, staff member, and Foundations family. We pray for peace, provision, and clarity in the days ahead.

We are also praying that God would make clear what is next for this building and this space—that it would continue to be used for His purposes and serve His Kingdom in a powerful way.

Thank you, Foundations Christian School, for all you have meant to our community. Your impact will continue far beyond these walls.

Family Camp is finally here! 🎉

From June 26–July 5, we’ll have opportunities every day to worship, grow, connect, and take steps of faith alongside the larger body of Christ.

Join us each evening at 7:00 PM in the Bethel Worship Center for worship, and be sure to check out the morning seminars as well. There are so many incredible opportunities to learn, be encouraged, and draw closer to Jesus.

As you look through the schedule, we’d especially love for as many people as possible to attend the Kingdom DNA Seminar on Wednesday, July 1, from 9:00–11:30 AM. If you’re able, make plans to be there!

Let’s come expectant for all God wants to do during Family Camp. See you there! 🙌
