Learning something new feels different when someone is there to encourage you along the way.

Throughout camp, our volunteer staff teach skills, answer questions, celebrate progress, and help campers keep going when something feels difficult.

Those interactions are part of Cedarbrook’s commitment to Skill-Building and Individual Development helping campers discover their God-given abilities while growing in confidence, courage, and perseverance.

❤️ If a Cedarbrook counselor or staff member encouraged you or your camper this summer, give them a shout-out in the comments.

Camp lasts a week. What campers take home can last much longer.

A new skill they worked hard to learn. A friendship that made them feel like they belonged. A Bible verse that suddenly meant something more. The confidence that came from trying something they weren’t sure they could do.

At Cedarbrook, our hope is that campers leave with more than great memories. We want the lessons, relationships, and faith they experienced at camp to continue growing long after summer ends.

Parents and campers, what is something from Cedarbrook that has stayed with you?

👇 We’d love to hear about it in the comments.

The cabins are quiet again, but Cedarbrook doesn’t end when summer does.

Cedarbrook Camp Southern California is a Christ-centered, year-round ministry, and the months ahead will be filled with prayer, planning, preparation, volunteering, and opportunities to continue building this community.

Most importantly, we’ll keep sharing the stories of what God did this summer and looking forward to what He will do next.

If Cedarbrook became part of your family’s story this year, we’re so glad you’re here.

👉 Follow along, share Cedarbrook with a friend, and stay connected for what comes next.

Camp changes. Generations change. But the heart of Cedarbrook remains the same.

Our camping story began in 1946 as Camp Cherith Southern California. Eighty years later, children and youth are still coming to the mountains to build relationships, discover new skills, experience God’s creation, and grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ.

Some of today’s volunteers first came through camp as campers themselves. Friendships that began here decades ago continue today, and another generation is beginning its own Cedarbrook story.

That legacy is something we’re deeply grateful for.

How far back does your Cedarbrook story go? Campers, alumni, parents and staff, we’d love to hear the year you first came to camp in the comments.

For one week at Cedarbrook, the phones stay home.

And something pretty special happens in their place.

Campers talk face to face. They notice what’s around them. They laugh with their cabin group, learn new skills, sing together, explore the mountains, and build friendships without a screen between them.

Cedarbrook’s unplugged environment is intentional. It gives campers room to connect through all five senses with God’s creation, with one another, and with the people caring for them throughout the week.

Sometimes stepping away helps us pay attention to what matters most.

Every activity at Cedarbrook is also an opportunity to invest in a camper.

Whether a counselor is helping someone learn a new skill, offering encouragement when something feels challenging, or simply celebrating a camper’s progress, our volunteer staff are there to guide, teach, and walk alongside them.

Cedarbrook is powered by volunteers who give their time and talents to create meaningful experiences while modeling Christ in the way they serve and care for others.

We are incredibly thankful for every person who said yes to serving this summer.

If you could go back to camp for one more activity…what would you choose?

🏹 Archery?
🛶 Canoeing?
🏊 Swimming?
🎨 Crafts?
🥾 Outdoor adventure?

At Cedarbrook, activities are about more than having fun. Campers get opportunities to try something new, practice a skill, develop perseverance, and discover more of their God-given abilities.

And sometimes, they find a new favorite along the way.

Campers: which activity would you sign up for again right now? Tell us in the comments!

Every camper experiences Cedarbrook a little differently.

For one camper, the most meaningful moment may have been trying archery for the first time. For another, it may have been making a new friend, singing in the dining hall, opening God’s Word with their cabin, or finding the courage to do something difficult.

Those individual stories help show what God is doing through camp.

Campers, parents, and volunteers: what is one Cedarbrook moment or story you would love to share? Leave it in the comments or send us a DM. Your story may encourage another family.

Every part of a week at Cedarbrook has a purpose.

Through Bible exploration and worship, campers grow in their relationship with Jesus. Through cabin life and shared adventures, they build relationships and community. Through outdoor experiences, they develop a greater appreciation for God’s creation. Through challenging activities, they build skills, courage, and confidence.

These four core values shape the Cedarbrook experience:

Spiritual Formation
Relationships and Community
Creation Appreciation
Skill-Building and Individual Development
