What an unforgettable conclusion to our 25th Annual Summer Speaker Series! 📚❤️ We ended on a high note with author Beck Dorey-Stein captivating us with stories and insights from her new novel, Spectacular Things.

For 25 years, this speaker series has been about so much more than wonderful books. It has been about bringing our community together, sharing meaningful conversations, and giving back. Thanks to your support and generosity throughout the season, we were able to raise vital funds for local charities that make a real difference right here in our community.

We’re closing out our 25th Annual Summer Speaker Series with an unforgettable evening! Join us this Thursday, Aug. 20, as we welcome author Beck Dorey-Stein.

Beck will share stories behind her new novel, Spectacular Things — a powerful look at sisterhood, ambition, and the choices that define our relationships and our lives. You might also know her as the best-selling author of From the Corner of the Oval, her memoir about serving as a White House stenographer across two administrations.

Join us this Sunday at 10 a.m. as we welcome guest speaker Rachel Meyn, development director at Safe Passage. Rachel will share the incredible work being done to empower children and families living around the Guatemala City Garbage Dump — one of the largest open-air landfills in Central America.

We’re also looking forward to Cheryl Sager and Neal Zweig handling our musical service. In addition to leading our hymns, they will offer a special performance of Eric Clapton’s Holy Mother.

✨What a fantastic turn-out for the latest evening in our 25th Annual Summer Speaker Series! A huge thank you to author Juliette Fay for visiting Union Church and sharing such fascinating insights into her novel, The Harvey Girls. It was an inspiring and memorable night.

Events like this don’t happen without a dedicated team behind the scenes. A heartfelt thank you to all of our incredible volunteers who generously gave their time and energy to set up, welcome our guests, and keep everything running so smoothly from start to finish. Our music ministry will feature Jen Comeau and Andrea Woolstadt, who will lead us in some of our favorite traditional hymns, along with special performances of "Wade in the Water" and "Down to the River to Pray."
