Better known as Mother Teresa, she was born in Albania in 1910. At the age of 18 she joined the Loreto Sisters of Dublin and was sent to Darjeeling, India. In 1946 she had โ€œa call within a callโ€ and gave herself completely to Christ by serving the poor in the slums of Calcutta. In 1952 she started the Missionaries of Charity which has more than 5,000 religious sisters worldwide. Her feast day is September 5th.

At the age of 30 he was the leader of the Roman Senate. He built a monastery on the family estate before he became a papal ambassador and later pope. Although the first pope from a monastic background his political experience made him a talented administrator. He brought papal authority back to Spain and sent missionaries to England. These Christian alliances shaped medieval Europe. He reformed the liturgy and especially music, today known as Gregorian chant. He was made a saint immediately after his death in 604. He is the patron saint of musicians and teachers. His feast day is September 3rd.

St. Augustine initially embraced the decadent lifestyle of the culture around him, but the prayers of his mother, St. Monica, who persevered for thirty years, turned his heart toward the Lord. He was baptized by St. Ambrose, was elected bishop of Hippo in northern Africa and wrote many learned works explaining the faith. His autobiography, ๐ถ๐‘œ๐‘›๐‘“๐‘’๐‘ ๐‘ ๐‘–๐‘œ๐‘›๐‘ , is still widely read today. He died in the year 340, is a Doctor of the Church and his feast day is August 28th.

St. Monica was born in 332 in present day Algeria in northern Africa. Her husband was a pagan with a violent temper who refused her permission to baptize their children. Her son Augustine lived a misspent life, which greatly distressed her. She prayed and wept for 17 years for the conversion of her son and husband. Both of them converted, and Augustine became a great saint. She is the patron saint of difficult marriages and disappointing children. Her feast day is August 27th.

St. Louis was crowned king of France when he was 12. He married at 19 and had 11 children. He raised all of his children in the faith and promoted the faith among his people. He came to the aid of the poor and established many hospitals. He came to the aid of the Church in his country and promoted religious life. He died in 1270 and his feast day is August 25.
