Pope St. John I was a holy but frail man when he was elected pope in 523. King Theoderic sent him as an ambassador to Emperor Justin I. On St. John's return he was thrown into prison where he died in 526. His body was transferred to Rome where he is buried in the Basilica of St. Peter. His feast day is May 18th.

𝑪𝒉𝒓𝒊𝒔𝒕𝒐𝒑𝒉𝒆𝒓 𝑴𝒄𝑮𝒖𝒓𝒏, a seminarian of the Diocese of Steubenville who is finishing up his second year of theology at St. Vincent Seminary in Latrobe, PA, had the opportunity to meet Pope Leo and present him with a picture of the seminarians at St. Vincent. He also wrote a short article about his encounter that was published in the most recent edition of Leaven, a publication of St. Vincent Seminary.

No time is ever lost through prayer, for those who pray are workers with God.
-𝑺𝒕. 𝑰𝒔𝒊𝒅𝒐𝒓𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑭𝒂𝒓𝒎𝒆𝒓

St. Isidore the Farmer was born to poor but devout parents in Seville, Spain in the year 1030. He lived a simple but holy life: attending daily Mass and showing great charity toward the poor. His wife, Maria, is also a saint. In the year 1212 his body was exhumed and found in a state of incorruptibility. King Phillip III of Spain was cured of a deadly disease after touching a relic of St. Isidore. He is the patron saint of farmers and his feast day is May 15th.
