The National Day of Prayer exists to mobilize unified public prayer for America. In this historic year, we are honoring both the 75th observance of the National Day of Prayer and the 250th year since the founding of the United States.

Join us at Reflection Ministries on Thursday, May 7, at 6 pm to 7:30 pm for a self-guided prayer walk. Please visit us at Reflection Ministries at Salem Church, 106 Michael Street, Bettsville, Ohio.

The self-guided tour will include prayer stations for topics such as our Country, Military, and others important areas of life.

Staff will also be on hand for those wanting prayer or to answer questions.

Good Friday Service

The Good Friday Service is one of reverence and contemplation of the death of Jesus Christ. It is a day to focus on the crucifixion of Jesus and the immense love He demonstrated through His suffering. The service provides an opportunity to connect with the profound meaning of Christ's death and coming resurrection.

Tenebrae Service

The word Tenebrae is Latin for shadows. The purpose of the Tenebrae service is to recreate the emotional aspects of the passion story. Tenebrae is a quiet prelude to Easter Day which helps us identify with the darkness and loss felt by Jesus’ followers as they experienced his death. Traditionally held on Maundy Thursday evening. The purpose of the service is to recreate the betrayal, abandonment, and agony of the events.

Katharina von Bora Luther

She began to question about being a nun and escaped on Easter Eve with other escaping nuns by wagon to Wittenburg.
She hoped to marry and had some trouble finding someone suitable. Martin Luther agreed to marry and she began a life of dedication.

Her first night of marriage was on a bed of straw that had not changed in a year. Her complex duties included caring for the home, animals, cooking, managing Luther’s meager income, and feeding all who came and needed.

They had six children. Martin wrote a hymn for each one. Katy helped with Luther’s bouts of depression.

Her death came on December 20, 1552 with these words, “I will stick to Christ as a burr to cloth.”
