‼️ June 11, the bishops of the United States will consecrate our nation to the Sacred Heart of Jesus during their Spring Plenary Assembly in Orlando, Florida.

This takes place during the 250th anniversary year of the Declaration of Independence.

But what does that actually mean?

Consecration means freely placing ourselves under the care and kingship of Jesus Christ. It is a public act of trust. As Catholics, we believe Christ is Lord not only of individuals, but also of families, communities, and nations.

❀️ And you can participate from home.

The Sacred Heart of Jesus reminds us of Christ's real and personal love for every human person. Through the private revelations received by St. Margaret Mary Alacoque, this devotion spread throughout the Church as an invitation to trust Jesus more deeply and respond to His love. The Church encourages this devotion while teaching that private revelations do not add to the deposit of faith.

Many Catholics are also drawn to the promises associated with devotion to the Sacred Heart, shared through the private revelations received by St. Margaret Mary Alacoque:

➜ I will give them all the graces necessary for their state in life.
➜ I will establish peace in their homes.
➜ I will comfort them in all their afflictions.
➜ I will be their secure refuge during life, and above all, in death.
➜ I will bestow abundant blessings upon all their undertakings.
➜ Sinners will find in My Heart the source and infinite ocean of mercy.
➜ Lukewarm souls shall become fervent.
➜ Fervent souls shall quickly rise to great perfection.
➜ I will bless every place in which an image of My Heart is exposed and honored.
➜ I will give priests the gift of touching the most hardened hearts.
➜ Those who spread this devotion shall have their names written in My Heart.
➜ In the excess of the mercy of My Heart, I promise that My all-powerful love will grant to those who receive Holy Communion on the First Fridays for nine consecutive months the grace of final perseverance; they shall not die in My displeasure or without receiving the sacraments, and My Heart shall be their secure refuge in that last hour.

So how can you take part on June 11?

➜ Attend Mass if you're able.
➜ Go to Confession.
➜ Make a personal or family Act of Consecration.
➜ Pray before an image of the Sacred Heart.
➜ Offer prayers for our nation, our leaders, and those who have fallen away from the faith.

Many of us want God to bless our nation. But have we invited Him to reign in our own hearts?

This consecration isn't just about America. It's also an invitation to surrender our own lives more completely to Christ.

The Catholic bishops of the United States are inviting the faithful to participate in a massive nationwide spiritual initiative. To consecrate the nation to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, the bishops have launched a campaign calling for 250 hours of Eucharistic adoration alongside 250 designated works of mercy.

This vast spiritual movement aims to bring communities together in deep prayer and active charity. By combining intense Eucharistic devotion with tangible acts of service, the American prelates hope to entrust the entire country, its challenges, and its people to the love and protection of the Sacred Heart.

As our Diocese concludes 33 Days to Eucharistic Glory, Bishop Schlert warmly invites all the faithful to participate in the Diocesan Eucharistic Consecration on Sunday, June 7, the Solemnity of Corpus Christi.

Even if you were unable to begin the 33-day preparation on May 5, joined only recently, or have not participated in the preparation at all, it is not too late to take part in this important moment of prayer and renewal. The consecration is an invitation for every member of our diocesan family to entrust themselves more fully to Jesus Christ, truly present in the Holy Eucharist.

Whether you prayerfully join the consecration on your own, with your family, or at the Mass you attend that day, all are invited to unite in this act of devotion and renewal.

Over the past month, many throughout our Diocese have journeyed together in prayer, reflection, and Eucharistic devotion. As we reach this culmination, let us unite our hearts with gratitude for the gift of the Eucharist and ask the Lord to continue renewing our Diocese through His presence in the Blessed Sacrament.

May this Eucharistic Consecration deepen our love for Our Lord, strengthen our unity as the Church of Allentown, and bear abundant spiritual fruit for years to come.

Praise the Holy Trinity,
and Undivided Unity!

This weekend the
The Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity is a challenging one to celebrate because the Trinity is a mystery that is so hard to understand. However, the Catechism teaches that the Holy Trinity is β€œthe source of all other mysteries of faith, the light that enlightens them” (CCC 234). How can the most confusing tenant of our faith, this idea of three Persons in one God, be the source of everything else in our faith?

The answer is love. The Holy Trinity is the source of all love and unity. Their relationships with one another; that is the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, is the most perfect expression of love and unity. From this perfect love, all other sources of love and unity flow, including the Church. We too participate in that love, that love between the Trinity and the body of believers which we in turn share with one another. On the contrary, the presence of the evil one brings hate and division, so often present in these days.

In the Gospel, Christ exhorts the Apostles to spread the Good News and to baptize in the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. This is the most perfect expression of love with the Trinity. Once we are filled with their love, we in turn need to spread it to one another, and unity will drive away divisiveness.

In this year of the Real Presence of Jesus in the Holy Eucharist, we recall that the entire Trinity is present in the Sacred Host since the Persons of the Trinity cannot be divided from themselves. This strengthens us to commit ourselves to sharing that deep love the Holy Trinity has for each one of us to everyone we meet.

As always, know of our daily prayers before the Real Presence of Christ in the Holy Eucharist.
