This page is an open forum for the Jewish residents of the North Country.Whether one has historical connections with the area or live right here loading the wood stove, may this be another place to connect with others like yourself. The Bethlehem Hebrew Congregation was established on a little side street in Bethlehem, NH in 1919 to serve as the summer place of worship for the growing Jewish tour

ist population. Most people came for the relief of Hay Fever.Since the introduction of antihistamines the summer residents have dwindled but many Jewish families have chosen the North Country as their home. They are doctors, carpenters, artists, musicians, merchants and writers. The Congregation's numbers are down from the once thriving religious institution of the 40's and 50's, but the services are still held, especially in the summer months when the cottage population grows. Many weddings and Bar Mitzvah celebrations and conferences take place in the historic building. The Bethlehem Hebrew Congregation also holds the Goldstone library of Jewish literature and the North Country Jewish Cultural Center.
