Following Morning Prayer at the Cathedral Church of the Nativity, Bishop Scanlan joined the St. Barnabas Center in Kutztown for a conversation about their ministry.

The St. Barnabas Center is the “resurrected” repurposing of St. Barnabas Church, which closed in 2021. Upon its closure, several members of the parish’s vestry developed a plan to use the building as a welcoming and inclusive space for spiritual exploration and community development in the greater Kutztown community.

This week the diocesan staff gathered in Harrisburg for our quarterly staff retreat! From learning about our new database, to reflecting on the strengths we bring to our work supporting churches, to worshipping together, it was time well spent. Special thanks to Paula Lapinski for her work coordinating this overnight retreat (just a few days after the Social Justice Summit and Gather!)
